Spooky are a British electronic music production and DJ duo consisting of Duncan Forbes and Charlie May. [1]
They debuted with Gargantuan in 1993 after signing to Guerilla Records. [1] In 1995 and 1996, they released three EPs (Clank, Stereo and Shunt) on their own Generic Records label, followed quickly in mid-1996 by their second album, Found Sound. Two singles from this album were released: "Fingerbobs" and "Bamboo".
Charlie May collaborated with Sasha on his 1999 Xpander EP and 2000's "Scorchio", and in 2002 he co-produced some tracks on Sasha's Airdrawndagger album. The same year saw the release of "Belong", the first Spooky single on Deviant Records, which Sasha later used on his mix album Involver . A white label single, "Andromeda", was released in 2003 [2]
A single entitled "Strange Addiction" was given a limited release in 2005 on Spooky's new self-owned label, spooky.uk.com. "Strange Addiction" featured in a trailer for The Great Global Warming Swindle which broadcast on British television channel Channel 4 in March. [3] This was followed in September 2006 with the release of No Return as a download and promotional CD. Spooky later bought back the rights to their entire back catalogue from the five record companies that previously owned their music, which had all gone out of business. [4]
Brett W. Gurewitz, nicknamed Mr. Brett, is an American musician best known as the co-founder and lead guitarist of Bad Religion. He is also the owner of the music label Epitaph Records and a number of sister labels. He has produced albums for Bad Religion as well as Epitaph Records labelmates NOFX, Rancid, and Pennywise, among others. Gurewitz also had a project called Error, which also featured Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, and Greg Puciato. He is also the co-founder of comic book and graphic novel publisher, Black Mask Studios.
His Name Is Alive is an American experimental rock band/project from Livonia, Michigan. After several self-released cassettes, they debuted on 4AD Records in 1990, starting a long run at the label. Throughout the band's long history, leader Warren Defever has been the only constant member, with a variety of musicians and singers contributing over the years.

Gerald Rydel Simpson, better known as A Guy Called Gerald, is a British record producer and musician. He was an early member of the electronic group 808 State, contributing to their debut LP Newbuild (1988) and hit single "Pacific State" (1989). He also achieved solo success with his 1988 hit single "Voodoo Ray", which became a touchstone of Manchester's acid house scene and reached No. 12 in the UK charts. He embraced breakbeat production in the 1990s, with his 1995 album Black Secret Technology becoming a "much-touted candidate for 'best jungle album ever.'" He also ran the London-based independent record label Juice Box Records from 1991 to 1998.
Voodoo Glow Skulls are an American ska punk band formed in 1988 in Riverside, California, by brothers Frank, Eddie, and Jorge Casillas and their longtime friend Jerry O'Neill. Voodoo Glow Skulls first played at backyard parties and later at Spanky's Café in their hometown of Riverside, where they played shows with the Angry Samoans, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Firehose, Murphy's Law, and The Dickies.

Jawbox is an American post-hardcore band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1989 by J. Robbins (vocals/guitar), Kim Coletta (bass), and Adam Wade (drums). After the trio released the album Grippe in 1991, Bill Barbot (guitar/vocals) joined as the fourth member. Jawbox released their second album Novelty in 1992, followed by Wade being replaced by Zach Barocas that same year. Jawbox signed to the major label Atlantic Records and released their third album For Your Own Special Sweetheart in 1994, which spawned the band's most recognizable song "Savory". After the release of their fourth album Jawbox in 1996, the band departed from Atlantic, and subsequently disbanded in 1997. They reunited for a brief one-off show in 2009, followed by a full-time reunion in 2019. Barbot left the band in 2021 and he was replaced by Brooks Harlan.

His career took him from being a DJ in the acid house movement of the late 1980s to being a remixer of tracks by Happy Mondays, New Order, Björk, the Orb, the Future Sound of London, My Bloody Valentine, Saint Etienne, Primal Scream, Moby and James.

Paw was an American rock band from Lawrence, Kansas, that was formed in 1990. Gargantuan is the debut studio album by English electronic duo Spooky, released by William Orbit's Guerilla Records in March 1993. Having established their place at the forefront of the progressive house scene, Spooky recorded the album in two London studios using analogue production. The record is largely instrumental and incorporates rigid percussion and rhythms with melodic house phrasings. The single "Schmoo" reached the UK Singles Chart, but Gargantuan under-performed commercially. It was however well received by critics, and today is regarded as a landmark album in the history of progressive house and British dance music. After the album went out-of-print, Spooky re-released it themselves in 2006.
