St. Johns County School District (SJCSD) is the public school district for St. Johns County, Florida.
It is the sole school district in the county. [3]
The county administrative offices are located at 40 Orange Street in St. Augustine, Florida. The superintendent of SJCSD is Mr. Tim Forson, who administrates the daily operation of public schools in the county. The position of superintendent is appointed by the St. Johns County School Board, a body of five elected officers, each board member representing a specific geographic area. The current School Board members, in order of district number, are Beverly Slough, Anthony E. Coleman Sr., Bill Mignon, Kelly Barrera, and Patrick Canan. Board members are elected in staggered four years terms with 2-term limits; districts 1, 3 & 5 elected during midterm election cycles (next in 2026) and districts 2 & 4 elected during presidential cycles (next in 2024).
With the tremendous population growth, the number of St. Johns County academic high schools tripled between 2000 and 2008. For the 2007-2008 school year, the district had an enrollment of 27,514 students, which according to the St. Augustine Record continued its ranking as "one of the fastest-growing school districts in the state" of Florida. The county seat and largest incorporated city is St. Augustine, although the largest community, St. Johns, is much larger. St. Johns County is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area.

In 1999, the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve was designated in St. Johns and Flagler counties, Florida as a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) system. The World Golf Village (WGV) is a golf resort in St. Johns County, Florida, United States, located between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. It was created by the PGA Tour and showcases the World Golf Hall of Fame. In addition to the resort the World Golf Village features residential and commercial developments. Nocatee is an unincorporated planned community located primarily in northern St. Johns County, Florida and a census-designated place (CDP). The community blends a variety of neighborhoods with schools, parks, recreation, offices, shopping, and restaurants. St. Johns County Public Library System serves the surrounding areas of St. Johns County, Florida, including St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fruit Cove, and Hastings. The library system has six branches, two bookmobiles, and offers books-by-mail service. In addition to books, periodicals, and online databases, SJCPLS offers computer access, notary services, Inter-Library Loan service, access to a Seed Library, test proctoring, and many volunteer opportunities. The library system also offers a dynamic range of programming for adults, teens, and children.
Tocoi Creek High School (TCHS) is a new public high school in the World Golf Village census-designated place, in north central area of St. Johns County, Florida near St. Augustine. It is part of the St. Johns County School District and opened to students for the 2021-22 academic year.
Tocoi Creek is a tributary of the St. Johns River in St. Johns County, Florida. Kayakers report seeing abundant wildlife including turtles, alligators, and osprey and what is left of an old steamship dock as they paddle the creek. The creek is named after a Timucuan word that means water lily. The indigenous Timucua lived in the area prior to European contact in the 1500s through about 1800.
