Stan Moore is a retired American ice hockey player and coach.

Early life and education

Moore was born in Massena, New York. He graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1978.

Career

After graduating from college, Moore embarked on a coaching career, taking him to several programs throughout the Northeast.^[1] While he spent the majority of his career as an assistant coach, Moore worked as the head coach of Union for two seasons, and then as an interim coach for both Colgate and Colby, each for only one season.^[2] Despite the short time he spent as a head coach, Moore has received the ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year Award twice^[3] and won a conference regular season title.

For the 2018–2019 season, Moore coached the Italian Hockey League second tier team of Caldaro, which he led to both league and Coppa Italia wins.

He is the former head coach of the Union Dutchmen ice hockey team of Union College, where he coached from 2011 until 2022. He played 15 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers over three seasons from 1990 to 1991. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1990 to 1999, was spent in the minor leagues.

Daniel J. Fridgen is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. He played 13 games in the National Hockey League with the Hartford Whalers between 1982 and 1983. After his playing career Fridgen coached at both Union College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for several years.

The Colgate Raiders women's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I ice hockey team that represents Colgate University and play in ECAC Hockey. The Raiders play their home games at Class of 1965 Arena. The Raiders have played in Division I hockey since the 2001–02 season after playing at the NCAA Division III from 1997 to 2001.

The Colgate Raiders men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Colgate University. The Raiders are a member of ECAC Hockey. They used to play at Starr Rink from its inauguration in 1959 until the 2015–16 season. Starting with the 2016–17 NCAA season, the Raiders have started playing their home games in the Class of 1965 Arena. The program is located in Hamilton, New York.

Terry Slater was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach. In the World Hockey Association, he coached the teams Los Angeles Sharks and Cincinnati Stingers.

Charlie Holt was an American ice hockey coach. He was the head coach of the University of New Hampshire from 1968 thru 1986. He is one of three 3-time recipients of the college ice hockey National Coach-of-the-Year Award.

Jim Higgins is a retired American ice hockey player and coach. Higgins is most remembered for his time at Princeton, coaching the Tigers for 14 years after spending the preceding decade building a coaching career. While Higgins failed to produce a single winning season during his time as a college head coach he is nevertheless the winningest ice hockey coach at Princeton since World War II (as of 2019). In recognition of his career Higgins was awarded the John "Snooks" Kelly Founders Award in 2013.

Don Vaughan is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former player. Vaughan has been the head coach at Colgate since 1992–93 and is the programs leader in both wins and tenure.

Kevin Sneddon is a Canadian American ice hockey coach. He is the former head coach of Vermont, a position he held from 2003 to 2020. He previously served as the head men's ice hockey coach at Union.

Brett Riley is an American ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently the head coach at LIU and was previously an assistant at Colgate.

Jeffrey D. Cooper is a Canadian retired ice hockey goaltender who was an All-American for Colgate.
