Stanley Owen Roth (born 1954) is an American foreign policy advisor who served as Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs from 1997 to 2001.
Roth earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Brandeis University in 1975. He then attended the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University,receiving a Master of Arts in International Affairs in 1977.
In 1979,Roth joined the staff of Congressman Stephen Solarz as chief foreign policy aide. [1] He held this job until January 1983,when he became a staff consultant of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asian and Pacific Affairs,the subcommittee responsible for the U.S.'s policy towards the Asia-Pacific,including foreign aid,military sales,trade issues and human rights. In October 1985,he was promoted to Staff Director of the Subcommittee. During his time as the Subcommittee's Staff Director,the Subcommittee held hearing on Ferdinand Marcos's hidden wealth in the United States. He was again promoted in January 1993 to become the House Foreign Affair's Committee's Director of Committee Liaison. [2]
In July 1993,Roth became Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs,in which capacity he was responsible for Asian security affairs at the Pentagon. Roth became a Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the United States National Security Council in March 1994. [3]
Roth joined the United States Institute of Peace in January 1996 as Director of Research &Studies.
In May 1997,President of the United States Bill Clinton nominated Roth as Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs,and Roth held this office from August 5,1997 until January 20,2001.
Roth left government service in 2001,joining Boeing as vice president of International Relations —Asia. He became Boeing's vice president of International Government Relations in July 2006.

Karl Frederick Inderfurth is an American diplomat. He was the Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs from August 1997 to January 2001. In his capacity as Assistant Secretary,Inderfurth was responsible for US policy regarding Afghanistan,Bangladesh,Bhutan,India,Maldives,Nepal,Pakistan,and Sri Lanka. Prior to his appointment as Assistant Secretary,Inderfurth served as the U.S. Representative for Special Political Affairs to the United Nations,with the rank of Ambassador. In this capacity,Ambassador Inderfurth dealt with issues such as UN peacekeeping,disarmament,nuclear proliferation and security affairs. Ambassador Inderfurth also served as Deputy U.S. Representative on the United Nations Security Council.

Mark William Lippert is an American diplomat who has worked as the vice president for international affairs at Boeing since 2017. He previously served as the United States Ambassador to South Korea from 2014 to 2017. Prior to his tour as an ambassador,Lippert had served as Chief of Staff for Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel,Chief of Staff for the National Security Council,and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs in the Department of Defense. On March 5,2015,he was attacked by a man wielding a knife in South Korea.

Previously,she has also served as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs in the United States Department of State under President Barack Obama from 2013 to 2017. Biswal was the first South-Asian American to hold this position. She oversaw the U.S.–India strategic partnership during a period of unprecedented cooperation,including the launch of an annual U.S.–India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue. Biswal was awarded the prestigious Samman Award by the President of India in January 2017. Biswal was also instrumental in launching the US-Bangladesh Partnership Dialogue,the C5+1 Dialogue between the United States and the Central Asian States of Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan,Tajikistan,Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Biswal also serves on the United States Institute of Peace International Advisory Council,on the Afghanistan Study Group and is on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Sustainable Communities,the Leadership Council for Women in National Security and is active in Democratic politics.

In January,2022,he was appointed as the president of U.S.-India Business Council. In 2022,Ambassador Keshap was elected into membership of the American Academy of Diplomacy. In May 2023,Keshap was named one of Washington's most influential foreign policy influencers for his work to shape U.S. relations with India.
