Star TV Tanzania is a Tanzanian television station with a wide range of broadcast content. It is based in Mwanza, near Lake Victoria, and maintains offices in Dar es Salaam. [1]
In 2003, Star TV broadcast 24 hours a day, in both English and Swahili languages and had contracts with Dar es Salaam Television, Channel Ten (both private television channels), Deutsche Welle, the BBC, Worldnet and Sky News. [2]

The region is sole home of the Tanzanian wine industry, which is the second largest wine industry on the continent after South Africa. The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is a public university located in Ubungo District, Dar es Salaam Region, Tanzania. It was established in 1961 as an affiliate college of the University of London. The university became an affiliate of the University of East Africa (UEA) in 1963, shortly after Tanzania gained its independence from the United Kingdom. In 1970, UEA split into three independent universities: Makerere University in Uganda, the University of Nairobi in Kenya, and the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
Dar es Salaam Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions and is located in the east coast of the country. The region covers an area of 1,393 km2 (538 sq mi). The region is home to Tanzania's major finance, administration and industries, thus the making it the country's richest region. The region also has the second highest Human Development Index in the country after Mjini Magharibi. According to the 2022 census, the region has a total population of 5,383,728 and national census of 2012 had 4,364,541. The region has the highest population in Tanzania followed by Mwanza Region.
Following Tanganyika's independence (1961) and unification with Zanzibar (1964), leading to the formation of the state of Tanzania, President Julius Nyerere emphasised a need to construct a national identity for the citizens of the new country. To achieve this, Nyerere provided what has been regarded by some commentators as one of the most successful cases of ethnic repression and identity transformation in Africa.
The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) is a stock exchange located on Ohio Street, west of Kivukoni, south east of Dar es Salaam, the commercial capital and largest city in Tanzania. It was incorporated in September 1996 and trading started in April 1998. It is a member of the African Stock Exchanges Association and the World Federation of Exchanges. The exchange is open five days a week, from Monday through Friday. The trading days are weekly from Monday to Friday, starting from 10.00 am to 14.00 pm.

Julius Nyerere International Airport is the international airport of Dar es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania. It is located in Kipawa ward of Ilala District in Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania. Tanzania National Main Stadium also known as Benjamin Mkapa Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Miburani ward of Temeke District in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It opened in 2007 and was built adjacent to Uhuru Stadium, the former national stadium. It hosts major football matches such as the Tanzanian Premier League and home matches of the Tanzania national football team.
Kisutu is an administrative ward of the Ilala Municipical Council of the Dar es Salaam Region in Tanzania. Upanga East ward and Kivukoni ward both border the ward to the north and north-east. The ward is bordered to the south by Mchafukoge ward and to the west by Jangwani ward. The ward hosts the Channel 10 Television Station formerly known as Dar es Salaam Television Station at Zaramo Street in Kisutu ward. In 2016 the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics report there were 10,404 people in the ward, from 8,308 in 2012.
Television Zanzibar, also called TVZ, is a television station in Zanzibar, Tanzania. It was the first colour television station south of Sahara. It is a state-owned broadcasting station which produces and transmits development-oriented programs.

Vanessa Hau Mdee, is a Tanzanian singer, rapper, television personality and radio host. Mdee is popularly known for being the first ever Tanzanian MTV VJ. She later rose to prominence as a radio and TV host, hosting Epic Bongo Star Search and Dume Challenge for ITV Tanzania before signing to B'Hits Music Group in late 2012.
