Steele Chambers (born July 24, 2000) is an American football linebacker for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Early life and high school career

Chambers attended Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Georgia. He played linebacker and running back in high school, where he was a 4-star recruit. He committed to Ohio State University to play college football. [1]

College career

Chambers played running back his first two years at Ohio State in 2019 and 2020, before switching to linebacker prior to the 2021 season. [2] [3] As a running back he had 28 carries for 221 yards and one touchdown. In his first year as a linebacker, Chambers started four of 13 games and had 47 tackles, one sack and one interception. [4] He returned to Ohio State as a starter in 2022. [5] [6]

On April 27, Chambers signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL draft. [9] [10]

He played football at Saddle Brook High School in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, where he earned All-State honors his senior year. He played college football at Rutgers, where he was a three-year letterman. In 2013, Longa was named a Freshman All-American after leading NCAA Division I in tackles by a freshman with 123. He was named Third Team All-Big Ten Conference in 2015. He started 37 games during his college career and recorded 342 tackles, which was the third most in school history. Longa forwent his final year of college eligibility to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. After going undrafted, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
