Stewart Richards (born 1956) is an English film producer, television executive, publisher and writer. He is notable for producing award-winning British arthouse films in the 1980s, including 1988 Palme d'Or-nominated Out of Town, the 1990 Un Certain Regard -selected 1871 , and the 1991 Academy Award-nominated and BAFTA-nominated Dear Rosie . Early life and education

Stewart was born in Ripley, Derbyshire, in 1956. Aged 17, he joined the National Youth Theatre and won an Arts Council trainee director fellowship, working at the Nottingham Playhouse, the Theatre Royal Lincoln and Birmingham Repertory Theatre. He later studied for three years at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. [4] [5]

Television career

In the 1990s, Stewart joined Channel 4 Films and Film on Four and then joined the team that launched Carlton Television in 1993, where he line-produced Frontiers , co-written by Stephen Poliakoff. [5] [10]

Publishing and writing

Stewart founded the publishing house Mr Punch, which produces radio drama and audiobooks, including the 1995 three-part play The Mutiny on the Bounty, with Oliver Reed, Linus Roache and Roger Daltrey, for BBC Radio 4. [11] [12]

He has written two books: The Great Train Robbery: The definitive account, about the 1963 Great Train Robbery, which he co-produced as a documentary for ITV Studios; and Curtain Down at Her Majesty’s, about Queen Victoria's final days, which he produced as a five-part drama for BBC Radio 4 and which was selected for Pick of the Week . Juliana Rojas is a Brazilian filmmaker who was born in Campinas, São Paulo. She graduated in Cinema in Escola de Comunicação e Artes da USP where she met fellow Brazilian filmmaker Marco Dutra. This was the beginning of a long partnership between them. In 2004, while still in school, they codirected a short film called Lenço Branco. Their short film was part of a section of the Cannes Film Festival that is dedicated to university films, Cinéfondation. Three years later, in 2007, Um Ramo, another short film directed by Rojas and Dutra, would be nominated to Semaine de la Critique of Cannes Film Festival. In 2011, her first feature film would be premiered in the Festival, in the "Un Certain Regard" section. Her film, Good Manners was nominated in 2017 at the Locarno Film Festival. She has also worked as an editor.

<i>3 Faces</i> 2018 film

3 Faces is a 2018 Iranian drama film directed by Jafar Panahi and starring Behnaz Jafari and Panahi as themselves. The film was produced despite a ban on filmmaking imposed on Panahi. It was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, winning the award for Best Screenplay.

She is mostly known for writing and directing the multi-award-winning short film 27, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, where it won the Palme d'Or Award. Buda has also written and directed the award-winning short film Entropia (2019), which was her university graduation project at MOME.

Animal is a drama film directed by Sofia Exarchou. The film premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in early August 2023.
