Stewartry RFC is a rugby union side based in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.They field a Men's 1XV, Women's 1XV and 7 youth sides from S1 to S6. [1] They play their home games at Greenlaw.

History

There was a previous Stewartry rugby club, active in the 1920s. They played their last game in 1930. [2] They played at Kirkchrist Park.

The present club was founded in 1970. [3]

The Women's XV are known as the Stewartry Sirens. They are very successful; having won the National Plate competition on three occasions, as well as going undefeated in West Region Division 1 in 2022/23 to gain promotion into the Scottish Premiership. [4]

The Men's XV play against Annan RFC for the Chisholm Cup; the local derby match. [5] [6]

Stewartry born and bred Suzy Mckerlie-Hex amassed 13 caps for Scotland:-

HJRFC has roots going as far back as 1904 with the formation of the Hillhead Sports Club, however, the rugby club as we know it today was founded in 1988 with a Women's section added in 1995, they have played at their current home ground, Hughenden in the West End of Glasgow since then. Despite their name, the club is not located in either Hillhead or Jordanhill, although the pre-merger clubs did have historical links with these areas. Hughenden is located in Hyndland beside Great Western Road.

Dalziel Rugby Football Club, formerly known as Dalziel High School Former Pupils Rugby Club, currently has a playing and social membership hailing from Motherwell, Wishaw, Bellshill and other parts of Lanarkshire, Scotland. Historically the club was closely associated with Dalziel High School in Motherwell from which it takes its name. A number of current players are former pupils of Dalziel High School.
