Stockade is a 1942 radio play by Richard Lane who regarded it as one of his most significant works. It is a verse drama about the Eureka Rebellion. It tells the story though Bridget Shannahan who was on Bakery during the Stockade period. She was a real person, grandmother to Lane's then-wife. [1] [2]

It aired in 1942. Wireless Weekly called it "an artistic success". [3] Other views were also positive. [4]

The play was produced again in 1943, [5] 1947 [6] [7] and in 1950. [8]

Leslie Rees called it "a good free-verse treatment of a difficult subject, from a particular point of view." [9]
