Subadyte is a genus of marine polychaete worms belonging to the family Polynoidae, the scaleworms. Eight species of Subadyte are recognised and the genus is known to occur widely in the world's oceans from the intertidal zone to depths of about 1200 m. [2] [3] [4]

Description

Subadyte are short-bodied worms with around 35–41 segments and 15–16 pairs of elytra. The lateral antennae are positioned ventrally on the prostomium, directly beneath the median antenna and the neurochaetae bear bidentate tips. [2] [3]

Austrolaenilla is a genus of marine annelids in the family Polynoidae. The genus includes 10 species which are known from depths of about 20 m to over 5000 m and from the Atlantic Ocean, Southern Ocean and Antarctic Ocean.

Brychionoe is a genus of marine annelids in the family Polynoidae. The genus includes a single species, Brychionoe karenae, which is long-bodied and occurs in the Tasman Sea at depths of 1100–1300 m.

Capitulatinoe is a genus of marine annelids in the family Polynoidae. The genus includes a single species, Capitulatinoe cupisetis which occurs intertidally in northwestern Australia.

Tottonpolynoe is a genus of marine polychaete worms belonging to the family Polynoidae, the scaleworms. Tottonpolynoe contains a single species, Tottonpolynoe symantipatharia. It is known from the South Pacific Ocean and Southern Ocean at depths of about 800 to 1,700 m.

Verrucapelma is a genus of marine annelids in the family Polynoidae. Verrucapelma contains three species which are known from shallow water down to a depth of about 90 m. All three species occur in the Indo-Pacific region, in the Coral Sea, northern Australia and the Indonesian archipelago.

Verrucapelma nigricans is a scale worm known from the South China Sea from intertidal habitats.

Verrucapelma retusa is a scale worm known from northern Australia, the Timor Sea and the Coral Sea from shallow water to depths of about 20 m.

The genus includes 11 species, 9 of which occur in the northern hemisphere, the remaining two are from the Indian Ocean off Mozambique and the Southern Ocean off New Zealand. Species of Gattyana are known from shallow water down to depths of about 1200 m.

Hermadion is a genus of marine polychaete worms belonging to the family Polynoidae, the scaleworms. Hermadion contains a single species, Hermadion magalhaensi which is known from the South Atlantic, South Pacific and southern Indian Oceans at depths to about 110 m.

Hermadionella is a genus of marine polychaete worms belonging to the family Polynoidae, the scaleworms. Hermadionella contains 3 species which are known from the north-west Pacific and Arctic Oceans from the intertidal to depths of about 200 m.


Neopolynoe is a genus of marine polychaete worms belonging to the family Polynoidae, the scaleworms. Neopolynoe contains 4 species, all known from the Atlantic Ocean from shallow water to depths of about 2500 m.

Subadyte albanyensis is a scale worm known from the shores of southern Australia from the intertidal to a depth of about 15 m.

Subadyte chesterfieldensis is a scale worm known from the Coral Sea from a depths of about 55 m.
