Sunni Dawate Islami is an Indian Non-governmental and socio-religious organisation which works for sunni muslims of India [1] founded by Muhammad Shakir Ali Noori in 1990. [2] [3] [4] It is headquartered at Mumbai, Maharashtra and other offices abroad. [5] They organise International Sunni Ijtema at Azad Maidan, Mumbai [6] [7] [8] for 2 days. [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] It completed its 20th Annual Conference in 2010 [14] and 30th Annual Conference in 2022. [15] [16] [17] [18] It takes out a great procession of Juloos-e-Muhammadi on the occasion of Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi every year. [19] [20] [21]

International Sunni Ijtema It holds an annual conference Ijtema in Mumbai, which is said to be attended by between 150,000 [22] and 300,000 people; [23] the first day (Friday) is reserved for women. [2] [24] Followers of Sunni Dawate Islami wear white turbans. [2]

Centres

In 2008, SDI had a European headquarters at Noor Hall in Preston, England, and centres in some other English towns, including: Blackburn, Bolton, Leicester and Manchester. [2] SDI also had a North American headquarters in Chicago. [2] By 2008, SDI had founded 12 madrasas in India. [2]

In 2020, SDI says that in India it manages 50 madrasas and 15 schools that teach in English. SDI says it has an educational centre in Bolton (England), [25] and an educational centre in Mauritius. [25]

It was formed in 1978 by Alhaj Mohammed Saeed Noori as a small publishing house, and later became known for protests for the rights of Muslims. The group publishes books of Ahle Sunnah scholars in various languages, the Kanzul Iman translation of the Quran, and Fatawa-e-Razvia. The group also conducts charity and advocacy work for the Muslim community.

Bihar State Sunni Waqf Board is a statutory body established in 1948 under The Bihar Waqf Act 1947. It is under the State Ministry of Minority Welfare. It came under the provision of the Central Waqf Act 1954 in year 1973. It has another split of Bihar State Shia Waqf Board. The State Government of Bihar had enacted a new act named Bihar Waqf Act 1995 and constituted Bihar State Sunni Waqf Board with a new department on 3 October 2001.

Juloos-e-Ghausia also known as Juloos-e-Gaus-e-Azam is an annual procession commemorating Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani on Gyarwi Sharif. It is done by sunni Sufi Muslims only across India. It is largely participated by Raza Academy and Sunni Daawat-e-Islami.

International Sunni Ijtema also known as Sunni Daawat-e-Islami Ijtema is an annual Congregation or Ijtema organised by Sunni Daawat-e-Islami at the Wadi-e-Noor in Azad Maidan, Mumbai, Maharashtra for 2 days. It is captured that lacs of people attend the congregation. The first day of the congregation is Reserved for women and second for men. It had started its conference in 1991 and continued still. The Ijtema end with a mass prayer of lacs of people headed by Shakir Ali Noori. A Congregation held at Nagpur on the 100th Urs of Muhammad Tajuddin where lacs of people attended.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi</span> Alternative name for Mawlid

Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi or normally called Eid Milad-un-Nabi or Barawafat is a festival of Mawlid celebrated by Sunni Muslims across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is organised on the birth anniversary of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad on the date of 12 Rabi Ul Awwal per Islamic calender. During the festival a procession is also taken in the name of Juloos-e-Muhammadi after the festival of Milad. It is considered as a holiday in whole India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Haj Bhawan is a complex in the Patna district in Bihar, India. It provides accommodations for Muslims on their way to Hajj. It is run by the Bihar State Haj Committee. it was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar on 17 October 2007.

Syed Mohammad Qubool Pasha Shuttari was an Indian Islamic scholar who was murid of the Shattari order and belonged to the Barelvi movement of Sunni Islam. He had served as the Member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Chairman of Ruyat-e-Hilal Committee and Secretary of Sadar Majlis Ulema-e-Deccan, Member of Anjman-e-Mutawalliyaan-o-Sajjadagaan-o-Khidmatguzaraan-e-Waqf. He was the Imam of Shuttaria Mosque, Dabeerpura.
