Hillsboro High School is a public high school in Hillsboro,Oregon,United States,and is the oldest high school in the Hillsboro School District. The current campus was built beginning in 1969. Prior to this,the first campus opened in 1913 at 3rd Avenue and Grant Street;the second campus,built in 1928,was located downtown at 6th Avenue and Lincoln Street,where J.B. Thomas Middle School stood until 2009. Currently 1,195 students attend the school in grades 9–12. Prior to her death on February 28,2019,Paulus lived in Portland,where she was involved with several non-profit groups and sponsored a ballot measure to create open primaries in Oregon's statewide elections.

The Superintendent of Public Instruction, sometimes referred to as the State Superintendent of Schools,was a constitutional office within the executive branch of the Oregon state government from 1872 to 2012,when it was eliminated by state law. Azbuka Academy was a public charter school project of Slavic Youth of America in Portland,Oregon. Operating under an agreement with the David Douglas School Board,it opened in September 2008 at a church building on Northeast Glisan Street and operated for two school years before closing. Triangle Lake School is a K-12 public school in Blachly,Oregon,United States. It is the only school in the Blachly School District. In 2006 the school earned an "exceptional" rating from the Oregon Department of Education at all levels:elementary,middle school and high school. In April 2010,the Triangle Lake School Board of Directors voted to accept the proposal of the Triangle Lake Charter School Committee to make the school a charter school. From the 2010-11 school year,it has been Triangle Lake Charter School. The school has 14 students to every teacher,five students fewer than the state average.

Rex Putnam was an American educator from the state of Oregon. A former classroom teacher and district superintendent,Putnam served as Oregon Superintendent of Public Instruction for nearly 25 years,the longest-serving state school superintendent in Oregon history. Following his retirement in 1961,a new high school in his adopted hometown of Milwaukie,Oregon was named Rex Putnam High School in his honor.

The 2020 Oregon Secretary of State election was held on November 3,2020,to elect the Oregon Secretary of State,the highest office in the state after the governor. Incumbent Republican Bev Clarno had agreed not to run for a full term. Clarno was appointed by Governor Kate Brown to replace Dennis Richardson,who died of cancer during his term.
