T. Buckley is the professional name of Canadian singer/songwriter Tim Buckley, who is based in Calgary, Alberta. [1] He has recorded five studio albums of country music. In 2018 he leads the T. Buckley Trio. [2] He is the older brother of singer-songwriter Mariel Buckley. [3]

Buckley was born and grew up in Calgary. [4]

Career

Buckley released his first album of country music, Roll On, in 2011. [5]

In 2012 Buckley performed on CBC Radio Alberta as part of their celebration of the Centennial Calgary Stampede. [6] In 2013 Buckley performed at the Bow Valley Music Club Festival and contributed a song to the festival's annual compilation album, Look Out, Kansas City. [7] Buckley formed a band, the T. Buckley Trio, with steel guitarist Tim Leacock and upright bassist Derek Pulliam; [8] in 2013 the trio released an album, Northern Country Soul, [9] [10] and the following year the three recorded another album, Nowhere Fast, in Banff. [11]

In 2014 Buckley was a finalist in the All-Alberta Songwriting Contest. [12] For a time he was a resident singer-songwriter at the Banff Centre. [13] In 2016 the T. Buckley Trio performed regularly in Calgary. [14] [15]

In 2018 Buckley released his fifth album, Miles We Put Behind, which was recorded in Montreal at Howard Bilerman's hotel2tango recording studio. [16] He toured around Alberta in support of the album, [17] sometimes performing with his sister. [18]

In December 2022, Buckley and his sister released a cover The Tragically Hip's "Bobcaygeon" as a single. [19]

"Four Strong Winds" is a song written by Ian Tyson and recorded by Canadian folk duo Ian and Sylvia. Tyson has noted that he composed the song in about 20 minutes in his then manager Albert Grossman's New York apartment in 1962. A significant composition of the early 1960s folk revival, the song is a melancholy reflection on a failing romantic relationship. The singer expresses a desire for a possible reunion in a new place in the future but acknowledges the likelihood that the relationship is over.

"Bobcaygeon" is a song by Canadian rock band the Tragically Hip. It was released in February 1999 as a single from their sixth album, Phantom Power, and has come to be recognized as one of the band's most enduring and beloved signature songs.

Considered one of the band's most enduring and beloved signature songs, the song peaked at number 1 on the RPM Country Tracks chart, number 3 on the Adult Contemporary chart and number 6 on the Top Singles chart.

Leaving Thomas was a Canadian country music duo composed of Annika Odegard and Bryton Udy from Calgary, Alberta. The group was formed in 2012 and signed a record deal with MDM Recordings Inc. in 2016. They have released one extended play and one studio album. The duo's first radio single, "Waiting Kind of Girl", reached the top 40 on the national country chart.

Mariel Buckley is a Canadian country music singer-songwriter based in Calgary, Alberta. She is the younger sister of singer T. Buckley.

The Journey YYC, Vol. 1 is the second extended play by Canadian country artist Paul Brandt, released on April 6, 2018. The EP is the first part of a two-part series with the second volume The Journey BNA, Vol. 2 being released in November 2018. Brandt debuted the extended play live at a CBC Music "First Play Live" event in Toronto, Ontario in April 2018.
