THEESatisfaction is a former American music duo based in Seattle, Washington. It consisted of Stasia "Stas" Irons and Catherine "Cat" Harris-White. [3]

Stasia Irons was born in 1985 in Tacoma, Washington. [4] Catherine Harris-White was raised in Hawaii. [4] Irons moved from Tacoma to Seattle in 1996, [4] while Harris-White moved from Hawaii to Seattle in 1997. [4] The two met in 2005 while Irons was attending the University of Washington and Harris-White was attending Cornish College of the Arts. [4]

THEESatisfaction was formed in 2008. [4] They began to self-release their recordings through Bandcamp. [5] In 2010, the duo released a collaborative single with Champagne Champagne, titled "Magnetic Blackness". [6] The duo was featured on Shabazz Palaces' 2011 album Black Up . [7]

In 2011, the duo signed to the record label Sub Pop. [8] [9] It was the second hip hop group to be signed by Sub Pop. [10]

The duo released a studio album, Awe Naturale , on Sub Pop on March 27, 2012. [11]

The follow-up studio album, Earthee , was released on Sub Pop on February 24, 2015. [12]

In 2016, THEESatisfaction announced that they had decided to "end the group" to "rest, reflect & grow independently." [13]

Active since 2009, Shabazz Palaces has released five studio albums on Sub Pop after self-releasing two EPs. Their most recent album, The Don of Diamond Dreams, was released on April 17, 2020.

Jamel Shabazz is an African-American fashion, fine art, documentary and street style photographer. His work has been published in books, shown in exhibitions, and used in editorial magazine works. He was born in Brooklyn, New York.

Erik Blood is a musician, studio engineer, composer, and record producer from Seattle, Washington. He has released two solo albums: Touch Screens (2014) and Lost in Slow Motion (2016). He is also known for his work with, among other artists, the Seattle-based hip hop groups Shabazz Palaces and THEESatisfaction. He has often cited his friend Arlo's expansive collection of music for inspiring him. He has worked with Shabazz Palaces since they were formed in 2009. He also produced the Seattle punk rock band Tacocat's third album Lost Time. In 2014, he was nominated for a Stranger Genius Award in music.

Jonathan Moore, also known by his stage name, Wordsayer, was a rapper, DJ and producer born in Seattle, Washington. Known as Seattle's "hip-hop ambassador" and "cultural mayor", Moore was influential in the Northwest hip-hop scene and founded the group Source of Labor in 1989.

Earthee is the second studio album by THEESatisfaction. It was released by Sub Pop on February 24, 2015. Music videos were created for "Recognition" and "Earthee".

The Don of Diamond Dreams is the fifth studio album by American hip hop duo Shabazz Palaces, released on April 17, 2020, through Sub Pop. It was produced by Ishmael Butler and features collaborations with Purple Tape Nate, Stas the Boss, Darrius and Carlos Overall. The album received acclaim from critics.
