Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) is a governing body to control certain regulatory and safety functions related to the power sector in the Indian state of Telangana. [3] [4] [5]
As a consequence of the formation of the Telangana State, the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) was constituted on 3 November 2014. [6] It was incorporated under the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998, a Central Act, in August 1999. In 2003, under section 82 of the Electricity Act, the commission continued as the regulatory body in the state. [7] [ better source needed ]

Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), a key regulator of power sector in India, is a statutory body functioning with quasi-judicial status under sec – 76 of the Electricity Act 2003. The commissions are vested with legislative and judicial powers to resolve conflicts between licence holders of production and distribution of electricity, or consumers and electricity distribution entities, and authority to draft regulations and sub ordinate regulations. The president and other members of such commissions are appointed by state governments in consultation with the Chief Justice of the state High Court.

The commission is vested with legislative and judicial powers to resolve conflicts between license holders of production and distribution of electricity, or consumers and electricity distribution entities and with authority to draft regulations and sub ordinate regulations. The President and other members of State Electricity Regulatory Commission (India) are appointed by Government of Punjab in consultation with the Chief Justice of state High Court.
