The Current (NSU)

The Current is the official newspaper of Nova Southeastern University, founded in 1989 as The Knight. The newspaper has been independent of Nova Southeastern University since its founding and is run by students. However, several prominent publishers, journalists, faculty, and staff members act as advisers and assist in syndicating stories across larger mediums. The newspaper is published weekly during the semester on Tuesdays. In 2004, The Current launched a new, full service website.

Nova Southeastern University College of Psychology

The College of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University was organized in 1967 and is located in the Maxwell Maltz Building on NSU's main campus in Davie, Florida. It serves to provide education to current and future psychologists and counseling professionals through training that provides individuals with an understanding of psychological research and the proper delivery of mental health care. Prior to a 2015 university-wide reorganization, the college was known as the Center for Psychological Studies. Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-KPCOM) is a private, non-profit medical school for osteopathic medicine located in Davie, in the U.S. state of Florida. Founded in 1981 as the only osteopathic medical school located in the Southeastern United States, the college is an academic division of Nova Southeastern University. The college confers the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, and is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation.

Nova Southeastern Sharks

The Nova Southeastern Sharks are the athletic teams representing Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. They currently compete in the Sunshine State Conference. The Sunshine State Conference is often considered the "Conference of Champions", because of its national recognition. Nova Southeastern was originally an NAIA from 1982 until 2002, where they moved into the NCAA and the Sunshine State Conference.

Guy Harvey Jamaican marine wildlife artist and conservationist

Guy Harvey is a Jamaican marine wildlife artist and conservationist. His depictions of sealife, especially of sportfish such as marlin, are popular with sportfishermen and have been reproduced in prints, posters, T-shirts, jewellery, clothing, and other consumer items. Harvey is also a very vocal and active advocate for marine conservation, having established the Guy Harvey Research Institute (GHRI) at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as well as the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, an organisation that funds scientific research and educational initiatives.

Nova Southeastern Sharks baseball

The Nova Southeastern Sharks baseball program represents Nova Southeastern University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's NCAA Division II level. The Sharks have a very short history, having only a small number of years of play under their belt; even having only joined the NCAA as recently as 2003. However, the sharks have won the Division II championship in 2016, led by the coaching of Greg Brown. The sharks are also known for producing several MLB stars, such as J. D. Martinez of the Boston Red Sox, Miles Mikolas of the St. Louis Cardinals, and Mike Fiers of the Oakland Athletics. After the 2019 season, coach Greg Brown announced his resignation so that he could pursue an opportunity to join the Tampa Bay Rays as a minor league hitting coordinator. Laz Gutierrez, a former roving instructor for the Boston Red Sox was named as his successor.
