The Greatest Hits is a compilation album by Scottish rock band Texas, released on 23 October 2000. It was the band's first greatest hits album, featuring songs spanning their career from 1989 to 2000. Three new singles were also included: "In Demand", "Inner Smile" and "Guitar Song".

Contents

Two extra bonus tracks appear on the UK edition of the album that do not appear on the international edition. In territories where the group did not chart any major hits, the album was simply renamed Song Book. Four previously released songs ("So in Love with You", "So Called Friend", "Everyday Now" and "Prayer for You") were also re-recorded for this album.

The Greatest Hits peaked at number one in the UK, becoming the band's third album to do so. It has been certified 6× Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry for UK sales of 1,974,890 copies. [5] The Greatest Hits was a big seller within the United Kingdom and was the 42nd best-selling album of the 2000s decade in the United Kingdom. [6]

The album consisted of the band's best-selling singles since their first chart appearance in 1995 with "Runaway", up to the Robert John "Mutt" Lange remix of their 2001 single "All the Love in the World", which charted at number twenty-four on the US Adult Contemporary chart. The album also featured the new single "Would You Be Happier?", as well as a new version of the Talk on Corners outtake, "Make You Mine". By the end of 2001, the album had sold over 2.4 million copies worldwide. By 2017, the album has sold 5 million copies.

Clandestino is the first full-length solo album by Manu Chao, released in 1998. "From Sarah with Love" is a song by German recording artist Sarah Connor. It was co-written and produced by Rob Tyger and Kay Denar and Connor for her debut studio album, Green Eyed Soul (2001). The title of the song is inspired by the James Bond movie From Russia with Love. Released as the album's third single on 5 November 2001, it peaked at number one in the Czech Republic, Germany, Portugal and Switzerland and reached the top three in Austria and Finland. "From Sarah with Love" was nominated for Best National Single – Rock/Pop at the 2002 ECHO Awards and received a triple gold certification from the German arm of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.

The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I, II & III is a box set by British rock band Queen which comprises their three greatest hits albums, Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits II and Greatest Hits III. The album was originally released on 13 November 2000 on the Parlophone label. A booklet with song facts and images is also included with the three CD set. The US release was delayed by Hollywood Records until September 2002 and featured the 2001 Japanese release remastered versions of Greatest Hits Volumes 1 and 2 on the US and Canadian versions of The Platinum Collection. The album peaked at number 2 in the UK.

Back for Good is the seventh studio album by German duo Modern Talking, released on 30 March 1998 by Hansa Records, following the reunion of the duo. The album includes new versions of 11 previous singles, four new songs, two remixes and a medley. Back for Good debuted atop the German Albums Chart on 13 April 1998 and spent a total of five weeks at the top. It was eventually certified five-times gold by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI), denoting shipments in excess of 1.25 million units in Germany. The album was also successful outside of Germany, topping the charts in Austria, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
