The Modlins are an indie band from San Diego, California. [1] They formed in 2004 and are composed of Matt Sheridan, Eric Killian, Chris Rhanor, and Al Smith. [2] Their albums Here's to Being Happy, With Friends Like These, Where Does it End?, and Shoot the Moon were nominated for San Diego Music Awards in 2007, 2008, 2009, [3] [4] and 2010. [5] With Friends Like These - their sophomore full-length, released in December 2007 [6] - went on to win Best Pop Album at the 2008 San Diego Music Awards. [7] Influences include The Beatles, The Kinks, the Shins, Elliott Smith, Chuck Berry, and Belle & Sebastian. [8] The group went on hiatus in fall of 2010. [9] The entire Modlins discography was re-released by San Diego record label Aural Gravy Records in Spring of 2014. [10] The group returned with two new albums in 2018 and continues to write more music.

Their music has been described as an amalgamation of cow punk, jangle pop, roots rock, hard-twang Americana, country rock, rockabilly, and swamp rock. The San Diego Reader summed up their sound as ..."like Bo Diddley, CCR, Joe South, and the Yardbirds, ham fisted into a food processor, stuffed into a shotgun shell, and blasted into a beer keg at three in the morning."

April is the third studio album by American folk rock band Sun Kil Moon, released in the US on April 1, 2008 through Caldo Verde Records, and on April 18, 2008 in Japan via P-Vine Records. The album was recorded at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco and Well Recording in Seattle during a seven-month stretch from spring to late summer in 2007. The Union Trade American indie rock band

The Union Trade is an American Indie rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 2006. An early and leading member of the Bay Area post-rock scene, The Union Trade is also the founding band of San Francisco independent music label, Tricycle Records. Since its inception, the band's line-up has included Nate Munger, Don Joslin (guitar), and Eric Salk. The founding drummer was Dan Rodkewich. The band's current drummer, Eitan Anzenberg, has been with the band since 2012.
