Tiny Moving Parts is an American emo band from Benson, Minnesota. Formed by brothers William and Matthew Chevalier, and their cousin Dylan Mattheisen, the band has released eight studio albums since their 2008 formation in junior high. Their eponymously-titled most recent album was self-released on August 26, 2022.

History

Tiny Moving Parts is a self-described family band consisting of brothers William Chevalier (drums) and Matthew Chevalier (bass, vocals), and their cousin Dylan Mattheisen (guitar, vocals) who were also all students at Benson High School. The trio started playing together in junior high and have been together since then. [4] After releasing their first album Waves Rise, Waves Recede, the Ocean Is Full of Waves, they followed up with their second, Moving to Antarctica on June 19, 2010. Their third album, This Couch Is Long & Full of Friendship, was released through Kind of Like Records on January 13, 2013. [1] On June 12, "Clouds Above My Head" was released as a free download. On July 9, the album was released physically. Later in the month, the group toured alongside The Front Bottoms, Frameworks and Hostage Calm. [5]

In March 2014, the group performed with Japanther. [6] Later that month, the band signed to Triple Crown Records. In April and May, the group went on tour with Frameworks, Gates and Free Throw. [7] In June, the group supported Modern Baseball (band) on their headlining US tour. [8] On July 9, "Always Focused" was made available for streaming. [9] On September 9, they released their fourth album, Pleasant Living. [10] In July and August, the group supported State Champs on their headlining US tour, dubbed The Shot Boys of Summer Tour. [11] Between October and December, the group supported Modern Baseball on their headlining US tour. [12] In March 2016, they announced that their fifth album, Celebrate, will be released on May 20, 2016. In the same announcement, they released the first single from Celebrate entitled "Happy Birthday". [13] The band went on a spring 2016 tour supporting The Wonder Years, Letlive and Microwave. [14] The group's next album, Swell, was released on January 26, 2018. [15] On June 25, 2019, it was announced that the band had signed to Hopeless Records. Their seventh album, breathe , was released on September 13. Their single “Life Jacket”, which was their final release with Hopeless Records, was released on May 28, 2021, with an accompanying music video being released on June 8. Their eponymously-titled eighth album was self-released on August 26, 2022.

Controversy

On February 28, 2019, an anonymous Twitter user accused Mattheisen of sexual assault. [16] On March 7th, Mattheisen released a statement on the band's Facebook to acknowledge the accusations and issued an apology to the victim. He further explained he reached out to the victim, offering to work with an independent mediator so she could have "a space to safely share their story while retaining privacy and confidentiality." The woman declined, stating they were not ready. In the same post, Mattheisen announced the band would be donating all the proceeds for their upcoming tour to charities, as well as committing to seeking therapy. Mattheisen's statement saw mixed response, with some praising his acceptance of responsibility, while others expressed anger and disgust at the revelations.

A Lesson in Romantics is the debut studio album by American rock band Mayday Parade. The band resulted from a merger of two separate bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. The band released an EP, Tales Told by Dead Friends, in June 2006, which they sold to people by following the 2006 edition of Warped Tour and offering copies; it eventually sold 10,000 copies. The band signed to Fearless Records in August. A Lesson in Romantics was recorded in early 2007 with producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount. Vocalist/guitarist Jason Lancaster left the band in March 2007 citing a lack of writing credit on the band's releases. Prior to the release of A Lesson in Romantics, "Black Cat", "When I Get Home, You're So Dead", and "Jamie All Over" were made available for streaming. After the album's release, the band participated in the 2007 edition of Warped Tour.

William Control is an American music project founded in 2008 in Seattle, Washington. It was the side project of Aiden's William Francis before Aiden's hiatus, and he later operated as William Control full-time. 'William Control' therefore refers to both the band as a whole and to Francis as his stage name. Francis was signed to Victory Records before starting his own independent label, Control Records, and, as William Control, has released five full-length albums, an EP, two acoustic albums, two live DVDs and a remix album (Remix). The first part of Revelations, The Pale, was released on October 14, 2016. The second EP The Black followed on February 17, 2017, and the third, entitled The Red, followed that with a release date of July 14 of the same year. The album was completed by The White on November 24.

Some of his best known collaborations are on the tracks "King for a Day" with Pierce the Veil, and "Love Race" with Machine Gun Kelly.

No Closer to Heaven was released through Hopeless on September 4. The Target edition featured two additional tracks.
