Trans Canada Highway is an EP by Scottish electronic music duo Boards of Canada. [4] Originally scheduled for release on 6 June 2006, [5] it was released by Warp on 29 May 2006. [6] It peaked at number 4 on the UK Independent Albums Chart, [7] number 8 on the UK Dance Albums Chart, [8] and number 12 on Billboard 's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. [9]

Music videos

The opening track, "Dayvan Cowboy", also appeared on the duo's album The Campfire Headphase . [4] Melissa Olson directed the music video for the track. [10] The video pieces together stock footage of Joseph Kittinger's high-altitude parachute jumps for Project Excelsior and stock footage of surfer Laird Hamilton riding waves. [11] In 2009, Pitchfork placed it at number 39 on their list of the "Top 50 Music Videos of the 2000s". [10]

Covers

In 2011, Solange Knowles released a version of the track "Left Side Drive" with additional vocals. [12] Knowles stated, "It's completely unofficial, and was just inspired by the song which I had a deep love affair with for years". [13]

It peaked at number 15 on the UK Independent Albums Chart. Originally pressed on blue vinyl, the vinyl version of the EP was reissued on black vinyl in 2013.

American rock band LCD Soundsystem has released four studio albums, three extended plays (EP), one compilation album, two remix albums, three live albums, eighteen singles, and fourteen music videos. The music of LCD Soundsystem is a mix of dance music and punk, and contains influences of disco. The band first gained attention when they released the single "Losing My Edge" on DFA Records, which became a well-known indie song in 2002. They then released more singles over the next few years and their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim. The album was certified gold in the UK but failed to chart on the US Billboard 200.

Disclosure is an English electronic music duo consisting of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence. They grew up in Reigate, Surrey. Their debut studio album, Settle, released on 3 June 2013, by PMR Records, was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. They released a second studio album, Caracal, on 25 September 2015 which was also nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards. They continued recording intermittently until late 2012, when large parts of the album were recorded. Influenced by film soundtracks from the 1970s and 1980s, Tomorrow's Harvest features a more menacing and foreboding tone than the duo’s previous works, highlighting themes of isolation and decay.
