Dallin Harris Oaks is an American religious leader and former jurist and academic who since 2018 has been the first counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called as a member of the church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1984. Currently,he is the second most senior apostle by years of service and is the President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Jeffrey Roy Holland is an American educator and religious leader. He served as the ninth President of Brigham Young University (BYU) and is the acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a member of the Quorum of the Twelve,Holland is accepted by the church as a prophet,seer,and revelator. Currently,he is the third most senior apostle in the church.

The BYU Cougars men's basketball team represents Brigham Young University in NCAA Division I basketball play. Established in 1902,the team has won 27 conference championships,3 conference tournament championships and 2 NIT Tournaments,and competed in 30 NCAA tournaments. It currently competes in the Big 12 Conference. From 1999 to 2011,the team competed in the Mountain West Conference,followed by 12 seasons in the West Coast Conference. On September 10,2021,the Big 12 Conference unanimously accepted BYU's application for membership,and BYU officially joined the conference for the 2023–24 season. The team is coached by Kevin Young.
On March 10,2008,The New York Times reported that Eliot Spitzer,Governor of New York,had patronized a prostitution ring run by an escort agency known as Emperors Club VIP. During the course of an investigation into the escort agency,the federal government became aware of Spitzer's involvement with prostitutes due to a wiretap. Following the public disclosure of his actions,Spitzer resigned as Governor effective March 17,2008.

A member of the Republican Party,Stringer has been co-chair of the GOP finance committee for Yavapai County,in addition to a Republican precinct committeeman and state committeeman.

The 2022 BYU Cougars baseball team represented Brigham Young University during the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. Mike Littlewood began the season as acting head coach of the Cougars for a tenth consecutive season. However,on April 11 Littlewood announced he was stepping away from BYU Baseball due to personal reasons that were undisclosed. Assistant coach Trent Pratt was named acting head coaching for the remainder of the season.

However,top LDS leaders only started regularly addressing queer topics in public in the late 1950s. Since 1970,the LDS Church has had at least one official publication or speech from a high-ranking leader referencing LGBT topics every year,and a greater number of LGBT Mormon and former Mormon individuals have received media coverage.
