Travis Williams is an American attorney and sports front office executive. He is the president of the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball.

Williams is from Indianapolis, Indiana. He earned his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and his Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law. [1] He was a partner at the law firm Reed Smith, and served as outside counsel for the Pirates. [2] He joined the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL) in 2008, becoming chief operating officer in 2011. [3] He left the Penguins to become the president of business operations for the NHL's New York Islanders in 2018. [4] Williams succeeded Frank Coonelly as president of the Pirates in October 2019. [5]

Williams and his wife, Nikki, have six children. [2]

He joined the Penguins in 2003–04 and during his 13 seasons with the team won Stanley Cup championships in 2009, 2016, and 2017.

Pittsburgh Yellow Jackets was the name of two separate ice hockey teams based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The original team played from 1915–1925. The 2007–08 Pittsburgh Penguins season was the franchise's 41st season in the National Hockey League (NHL). Their regular season began on October 5, 2007, against the Carolina Hurricanes and concluded on April 6, 2008, against the rival Philadelphia Flyers. The Penguins–Islanders brawl was a National Hockey League (NHL) regular season ice hockey game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Islanders that resulted in a record for combined penalty minutes for both teams. The game was played on February 11, 2011, at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the home arena of the Islanders at the time. New York won the game 9–3. In all, 65 penalties were assessed, including 15 fighting majors and 21 game misconducts, resulting in a total of 346 penalty minutes.

Daniel Sprong Dutch ice hockey player

Daniel Sprong is a Dutch professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the San Diego Gulls in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Sprong was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft after playing two seasons with the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), and made the Penguins immediately after being drafted, though he would return to the QMJHL and play two more seasons with the Islanders. Born in the Netherlands, Sprong moved to Canada with his family in 2005 in order to further his hockey career. Though a Dutch citizen, Sprong has declined to play internationally for the Dutch national team in hopes of playing for the Canadian national team instead.
