Sir Trefor Alfred Morris CBE QPM [1] (born 22 December 1934) was Chief Inspector of Constabulary [2] from 1993 to 1996. [3]

Morris was educated at Ducie Technical High School and the University of Manchester. Morris joined the Manchester City Police in 1955 and by the time of the creation of the Greater Manchester Force was a Chief Superintendent. He was appointed Assistant Chief Constable of that force in 1976. [4]

He transferred to Hertfordshire Constabulary as Deputy Chief Constable in 1979 and served as Chief Constable from 1984 to 1990. [5] [6]

Hertfordshire Constabulary English territorial police force

Hertfordshire Constabulary is the territorial police force responsible for policing the county of Hertfordshire in England. Its headquarters is in Welwyn Garden City. The current chief constable is Charlie Hall. As of March 2019, the force consists of over 1,900 police officers, 235 PCSOs, over 1500 police staff, as well as being supported by more than 410 special constables.

Her Majestys Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services Statutory public body in England and Wales

Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS), formerly Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), has statutory responsibility for the inspection of the police forces, and since July 2017 the fire and rescue services, of England and Wales. HMICFRS is headed by the Chief Inspector of Constabulary and Chief Inspector of Fire & Rescue Services. It has taken over the responsibilities of Her Majesty's Fire Service Inspectorate.

Peter Fahy

Sir Peter Martin Fahy is a retired senior British police officer. He was the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police (GMP), the United Kingdom's third largest police force. He retired from the police force on 23 October 2015 after serving for 34 years.

Sir Lawrence Byford was Chief Inspector of Constabulary from 1983 to 1987. His inquiry into the failings of the Yorkshire Ripper investigation by West Yorkshire Police earned him the description "the man who changed the face of modern policing" because it "led to fundamental changes in the way serial killer investigations would be carried out in future across the world".
