TurnTable Certification System of Nigeria (TCSN), founded by the Nigeria music magazine TurnTable, to represent the music recording certification in Nigeria based on the number of albums and singles paid streams and digital downloads. The certification is not automatic; for an award to be made, the manager, distributor, or record label must first request certification from its website.

History

On 20 March 2021, TurnTable announced its partnership with the Nigerian music community WeTalkSound, to lunch a music recording certification called the Recording Certification of Nigeria [1] (abbreviated as "RCN") to award Gold, Platinum, and Diamond certifications to singles, albums, and videos. Prior to its launch, RCN began operation in March 2021, certifying only music videos with the typical Gold and Platinum benchmarks, awarding gold certifications for 2,500 units, platinum for 5,000 units, and multi-platinum starting from 10,000 units. [1] In a conversation with The Native; Dolapo Amusat, Ayomide Oriowo, Fortune Osayawe, and Similoluwa Adegoke, spoke about growing the music ecosystem in Nigeria and its vision for the Recording Certification of Nigeria in the nearest future. In August 2021, the Recording Certification of Nigeria became inactive after awarding 92 music videos. On 19 February 2023, Ayomide Oriowo, and Similoluwa Adegoke announce the TurnTable Certification System of Nigeria, as a flagship of TurnTable charts, a music recording chart monitoring Nigeria Top 100 songs, and Top 50 albums. [3] [4] The Nigeria music magazineTurnTable, establish the TurnTable Certification System of Nigeria to award Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Multi-Platinum plaques to eligible songs or albums in Nigeria.

TurnTable charts is a catalog of relative weekly, and yearly popular songs in Nigeria. The results are published in TurnTable magazine. TurnTable provides additional weekly charts, as well as the End of the Year Top 50. The charts can be ranked according to airplay, and digital streaming. For main song charts such as the TurnTable Top 100, all three data are used to compile the charts. For End of the Year Top 50, streams and airplay from TurnTable Top 100 are included.

TurnTable is a Nigerian music and entertainment magazine founded by Ayomide Oriowo, and Similoluwa Adegoke. TurnTable focuses primarily on music charts, news, and events. Its music charts include the Top 100, and the Year-End chart. TurnTable magazine has two issues, and its first issue was published on 19 December 2020, by Similoluwa Adegoke. Its issues are printed in English language. In 2023 the magazine launched its music recording certification, TurnTable Certification System of Nigeria to represent the recording certification system of music industry in Nigeria.

"Last Last" is a song by Nigerian singer Burna Boy. It was released through Atlantic Records on 13 May 2022 as the first single from his sixth studio album, Love, Damini. The song samples American singer Toni Braxton's 2000 single "He Wasn't Man Enough", for which its writers LaShawn Daniels, Harvey Mason Jr., and brothers Fred Jerkins III and Darkchild are credited on "Last Last". Burna Boy co-wrote the song with producers Off & Out, Chopstix, MdS, and Ruuben. Burna Boy notably performed the song at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards two days after its release.

Ayobami Olaleye professionally known as Phantom is a multi-gold, award-winning Afrobeats record producer, singer, and songwriter. In 2020, he became the third Nigerian Afrobeats producer in history to be certified by Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique (SNEP) after Burna Boy’s "Ye" became a certified gold record in France. The song earned him an award at 2019 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival, in the African Producer of the Year category, with a nomination at The Headies, in the Producer of the Year category.

<i>Mr. Money with the Vibe</i> 2022 studio album by Asake

Mr. Money with the Vibe is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Asake, following his signing with YBNL Nation in February 2022. It was released on 7 September 2022 through Empire Distribution. The album comprises 12 tracks, which were all produced by Magicsticks. The album features two guest appearances from Russ and Burna Boy. Two other tracks which have been previously released as singles from the album are "Peace Be Unto You (PBUY)" and "Terminator" which were released in June 2022 and August 2022 respectively. This album release is a follow-up to his extended play Ololade Asake which was released in February 2022 immediately after being signed by Olamide to YBNL. Following the album's release, it peaked at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart in September 2022.

The TurnTable Top 100 Albums is the official album streaming chart in Nigeria. It is compiled every Tuesday by a Nigeria-based music digital streaming tracking company and published every Tuesday by TurnTable magazine. The list shows the 50 best-streaming music albums of the moment in Nigeria. The first issue of the Nigeria Top 50, was launched on Tuesday, 8 November 2022, and the first number-one album was Mr. Money with the Vibe by Asake.

The TurnTable End of the Year Top 100 of 2022 is a chart that ranks the best-performing singles in Nigeria. Its data, published by TurnTable magazine, is based collectively on each single's weekly physical and digital sales, as well as airplay and streaming. At the end of a year, TurnTable publishes an annual list of the 100 most successful songs throughout that year on its top 100 charts based on the information published on 22 December 2022 in TurnTable, and calculated with data from January 3, 2022, to December 12, 2022.

"Declan Rice" is a song by Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, released on 24 March 2023 through NATIVE Records, and Def Jam Recordings. The single was produced by Trill Xoe, and John Wav for Native and Def Jam. The song debuted at number 1 on Nigeria's Top Hip-Hop/Rap Songs and debuted at number 8 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 on 27 March 2023, recording the highest debut for a hip-hop record in the Top 100. It debuted at number 27 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs for the week of 8 April 2023.
