Austin Kulani Baloyi, [1] professionally known under the alias of Tyler ICU, [2] is a South African DJ and record producer born and bred in Tembisa, Gauteng. [3] He rose to prominence subsequent to the release of "Mnike" which was certified platinum in South Africa, [4] and peaked at number one for sixteen consecutive weeks on The Official South African Charts and Billboard South Africa songs. Baloyi was introduced to the mainstream in 2020 when he put out his single "Bella Ciao" with Nicole Elocin alongside DJ Maphorisa and Kabza de Small which led an extended play Money Heist. [1] In 2021 he released "Banyana" with DJ Maphorisa which was certified double platinum. [7] [8]

Awards and nominations

Tyler ICU was nominated for Best African Act at the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards amid the success of "Mnike". [9] [10] [11] Unfortunately on 19 October Paramount Global announced that the ceremony was canceled, [12] due to the 2023 Israel–Hamas war. [13]

Themba Sekowe, known professionally as DJ Maphorisa, is a South African DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter. As a record producer with a blend of house music, amapiano and afropop, he has worked with and has received production credits from several notable artists, including Wizkid, Sizwe Alakine, Kwesta, Uhuru, Drake, Black Coffee, Major Lazer, Runtown, C4 Pedro, TRESOR, Kabza De Small, Era Istrefi, Mpura, Young Stunna and Killer Kau. He was signed to Kalawa Jazmee Records prior to establishing his own record label, BlaqBoy Music.

Bongekile Mildred Simelane prominently known as Babes Wodumo(also qqom queen), is a South African singer-songwriter and choreographer. She rose to fame following the release of her debut album Gqom Queen, Vol. 1 (2016) and furthermore subsequently being nominated at the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act.

Lindokuhle Mgedeza, known professionally as Mlindo the Vocalist, is a South African singer and songwriter. He initially gained notable recognition following his debut single, "Amablesser", taken from his debut album, Emakhaya (2018).

RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE is an amapiano collaborative album by TRESOR, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. It was released on 9 April 2021 and features guest appearances from local South African musicians such as Tyler ICU, Mas Musiq and the Cape Town band Beatenberg. The 14-track album is composed of TRESOR's vocals, which are combined from genres such as amapiano, Kwassa kwassa, rumba, salsa, bubblegum and Afrobeats. The album also alternates between Swahili, French, English, Zulu and Lingala.

Lethabo Sebetso, professionally known as Focalistic, is a South African rapper. He rose to prominence after his single "Ke Star", reached number 16 on Billboard Top Triller Global charts. "Kill Bill" is a song by American singer-songwriter SZA and the fifth single from her second studio album, SOS (2022). It is a pop and R&B murder ballad, built around a midtempo, groovy rhythm and a detuned melody. Guitars, a bassline, and a flute that was sampled from a Prophet-6 synthesizer constitute the song's production, which is influenced by the boom bap subgenre of hip hop. Mirroring the plot of the Kill Bill film duology after which the song is named, the lyrics discuss a fantasy to kill an ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend out of jealousy, and they employ humorous irony alongside violent imagery that contrasts with SZA's soft vocals. It features guest appearances from DJ Maphorisa, Nandipha808, Ceeka RSA and Tyron Dee as it was released on 28 April 2023 under Sony Music Entertainment Africa. It peaked at the number one spot on Billboard South Africa Songs, The Official South African Charts, and hit one million streams two weeks after its release.

Nkosazana Nolwazi Kimberly Nzama professionally known as Nkosazana Daughter, is a South African vocalist, singer and songwriter. She gained prominence after releasing her 14-track debut album that featured Master KG, Kabza de Small, DJ Maphorisa, Chronical Deep, Tyler ICU, Major League DJz, Makhadzi, and Young Jonn, among others. She appeared on a collaboration "Sofa Silahlane" with Master KG and Lowsheen, released 12 May 2022 which reached number 1 on Apple Local iTunes Charts. In April 2022, the music video of 'Dali Nguwe' featuring Master KG reached 3 million views in three weeks. In June 2023, her debut studio album got released and charted number 34 on Spotify Top albums, and debuted number 3 in South Africa. She has performed in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, United States and several other countries.
