The UAZ Patriot (UAZ-3163) is a mid-size body-on-frame SUV produced by the UAZ division of SeverstalAvto in Ulyanovsk, Russia. It was introduced in 2005 and replaced the older UAZ Simbir (UAZ-3162). Extensive use of newer parts, large carrying capacity, good off-road capabilities and an affordable price (<15,000 USD) predicted good sales in Russia. 12,011 units were sold in the year 2007. [2]
The SUV accommodates five adults and can carry about 200 kilograms (440 lb) of cargo.
In October 2011, UAZ announced the release of a limited edition SUV in honour of the 70th anniversary of the plant. Cars of the anniversary series have different exterior and interior trim details.
In May 2012, the plant built a restyled model of the UAZ Patriot with a different dashboard, which no longer had a handle for the front passenger. It had a new, safer four-spoke steering wheel from the German manufacturer Takata-Petri, 2DIN media player and a USB-connector for flash drives.
In August 2013, UAZ started the production of a renewed Patriot with a new transfer case Dymos featuring electronic control. [3]
A facelifted UAZ Patriot debuted in 2014: the SUV got new bumpers, headlights, seats, an optional multimedia system with navigation and a rear back-up camera, some chassis improvements, and a new turbocharger for the diesel engine. [4]
The UAZ Patriot 4×4 and pickup were to be imported into the United States as the Bremach 4×4 SUV and Bremach Brio in 2022, but Bremach announced a cessation of operations and refunds of deposits as a consequence of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. [5]
Note that the Patriot Sport has been discontinued while the UAZ Cargo and UAZ Profi are now the UAZ Professional, and the UAZ Pickup truck is marketed separately.
The Lada Niva Legend, formerly called the Lada Niva, VAZ-2121, VAZ-2131, and Lada 4×4, is a series of four-wheel drive, small (hatchback), and compact off-road cars designed and produced by AvtoVAZ since 1977. The Hummer H3 is an off-road vehicle that was produced from 2005 to 2010 by General Motors. The smallest model of the Hummer lineup, it was offered as a 5-door SUV or a 4-door pickup truck known as the H3T. Unlike the larger H1 and H2 models, the H3 was not developed by AM General. It was introduced for the 2006 model year, based on a modified GMT355 that underpinned the Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon compact pickup trucks that were also built at GM's Shreveport Operations in Shreveport, Louisiana and the Port Elizabeth plant in South Africa. While mechanically related to the Colorado and Canyon, GM claims they share only 10% of their components, with the chassis modified and reinforced for heavy off-road duties.

The UAZ-469 is an off-road military light utility vehicle manufactured by UAZ. It was used by Soviet and other Warsaw Pact armed forces, as well as paramilitary units in Eastern Bloc countries. In the Soviet Union, it also saw widespread service in state organizations that needed a robust and durable off-road vehicle. Standard military versions included seating for seven personnel.
The GAZ-24 "Volga" is a car manufactured by the Gorky Automobile Plant from 1970 to 1985 as a generation of its Volga marque. A largely redesigned version – GAZ-24-10 – was produced from 1985 to 1992. The Belgian-assembled rebadged models were sold as Scaldia-Volga M24 and M24D for the Western European market.
The UAZ-452 is a family of four wheel drive off-road vans and light trucks with body-on-frame construction and cab over engine design, built by the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) since 1965. Originally designed for the Soviet military, since 1985 the vans received updates: more modern engines and internationally compliant lighting, as well as new model numbers, UAZ-3741 for the standard van, while (crew-cab) trucks mostly starting with UAZ-3303, often with one or two extra digits specifying the version. From 1997, bigger UAZ-33036 truck variants with a 25 cm (10 in) longer wheelbase, and taller soft-top roof bows and drop-sides were added.

The UAZ Simbir, or UAZ-3162, is a model of off-road vehicle produced at the Russian Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in 2000–2005. This car is a completely new model in relation to the UAZ-469 and modifications based on it. Is essentially a rebodied extended wheelbase UAZ-3160. On August 5, 1997 the first prototype of the UAZ-3160 rolled off the assembly line. April 27, 2000 saw the first production sample UAZ-3162 "Simbir" featuring a long wheelbase and new Spicer axles from the UAZ-3160.
The UAZ Simba is a UAZ designed 4×2 or 4×4 wheel drive minivan concept. The Simba has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm and is a combination of a 7-9-person van and an SUV. It shares many common components with UAZ-3162 SUV. Simba family prototypes were shown at the Moscow Auto Salon in 1999–2005, but did not reach production for financial reasons.
