UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Le (also known as UFC Fight Night 48) was a mixed martial arts event held on August 23, 2014, at the CotaiArena in Macau. [2]
The event was headlined by a middleweight bout between Michael Bisping and Cung Le. [3]
It was the third event that the organization had hosted in the CotaiArena following UFC on Fuel TV: Franklin vs. Le in November 2012 and The Ultimate Fighter China Finale: Kim vs. Hathaway in March 2014.
Also featured on the card was the featherweight final from The Ultimate Fighter: China between Ning Guangyou and Jianping Yang, which was originally expected to take place at The Finale for the inaugural season. [4] [5]
Dong Hyun Kim was expected to face Hector Lombard at the event. However, Lombard pulled out of the bout and was replaced by Tyron Woodley. [6]
Alberto Mina was expected to face Sheldon Westcott at the event. However, in the days leading up to the event, Westcott pulled out of the bout citing an injury and was replaced by Shinsho Anzai. [7]

Michael Bisping is a British sports analyst, actor, commentator and retired mixed martial artist, who competed in the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight division of the UFC. A professional competitor since 2004, he is a former UFC Middleweight Champion, a former Cage Rage Light Heavyweight Champion and The Ultimate Fighter 3 Light Heavyweight tournament winner. At UFC 78, he became the first British fighter to compete in a UFC main event. At UFC 199, he became the first British fighter to win a UFC Championship and he remains the sole British winner of a UFC title. He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on 5 July 2019.
Héctor Miguel Lombard Pedrosa is a Cuban-Australian professional mixed martial artist, bodybuilder, and former Olympic judoka who competed as a middleweight and welterweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was the first Bellator Middleweight World Champion.
Tyron Lakent Woodley is an American professional mixed martial artist, and broadcast analyst. He became the UFC Welterweight Champion when he defeated Robbie Lawler at UFC 201, and went on to defend his title four times before losing it. A professional since 2009, Woodley also competed at Strikeforce and was an NCAA Division I collegiate wrestler for the Missouri Tigers, becoming a two–time All-American and Big 12 Conference champion.
