The UTS Australian Football Club is an Australian rules football club that competes in the AFL Sydney competition. Founded in 2000, the club have won nine Division 1 premierships, including one by the women's team in 2016. The club plays its home games at the Trumper Park Oval in Paddington, an inner city suburb of Sydney. [3]
The UTS North Sydney District Cricket Club was founded in 1858 and is one of Australia's oldest cricket clubs. It competes in the NSW Premier Cricket competition, and has won five first grade premierships. The club's home ground is located at the North Sydney Oval, where it has played since its foundation. Its notable past players include Don Bradman, Bill O'Reilly and Stan McCabe. [4]
UTS have won the Nationals T20 Cricket on three occasions (2014, 2018, 2022).
For the Handball League Australia they did a joint venture with University of Canberra. They were called UTS-UC Hawks Handball Club. At the Australian Handball Club Championship won the men two silver and one bronze medal and the women's one silver and two bronze medals. The men's won two silver medal and one bronze medal at the Oceania Handball Champions Cup. The women's won one bronze medal at the Oceania Women's Handball Champions Cup.
They are the most successful team at the UniSport Division 1 Handball Nationals with 3 titles and in total 6 medals. They have also won 1 title and a bronze medal in the UniSport Division 2 Handball Nationals.
The UTS Randwick Sparks (formerly UTS St George Sparks) is a netball club that competes in the Netball NSW Premier League. It was formed through a partnership between the University of Technology Sydney and the Randwick Netball Association. [5] The Under-23s team have won two premierships (2017, 2020) and were runners up in 2016. [6]
The UTS Haberfield Rowing Club is a rowing club located at Dobroyd Point, in the Inner West of Sydney. Since 2014, the club have shared its clubhouse with St Catherine's School, Waverley, as their in-house school partner. [7] The club has produced 42 Olympians, including 16 Olympic medallists. Its notable past rowers include Stuart Welch, Victoria Roberts and James Chapman. [8]
The UTS Northern Suburbs Athletic Club is one of Australia's largest athletic clubs. Founded in 1927, the club has produced 11 Olympians and 12 Commonwealth Games representatives throughout its history. The club's athletics tracks are located at the Rotary Athletics Field in Lane Cove North, on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. [9]
The UTS Balmain Water Polo Club, founded in 1884, is Australia's oldest water polo club. The club has produced 21 Olympians throughout its history, including multiple Olympic medallists. Its notable past players include Bronwyn Mayer, Taryn Woods and Rowena Webster. [10]

UTS were the overall winner on two occasions (2016, 2017), and were awarded the John White Spirit of the Games Shield on one occasion (1995).

UTS were awarded the Spirit of the Mountain Award in 2019.
UTS were overall winner of the Indigenous Nationals on two occasions (2003, 2019).

Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness (SUSF) is the University of Sydney's sporting body. Bronwyn Roye is an Australian former rower. She is a six-time national champion, a medalist at World Championships and a dual Olympian who raced in two Australian sculling events at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Samuel Loch is an Australian former representative rower. A dual Olympian and two time bronze medal winner at World Championships, he has set and holds world records in indoor rowing with times set on the Concept 2 rowing machine.
Sydney University Boat Club is the rowing club in Sydney, Australia with the oldest charter having been formed in 1860 by the founders of the University of Sydney. It has had a boatshed presence in various locations on Sydney Harbour since 1886, excepting between 1941 and 1966. A varsity and recreational club during most of its history, the Boat Club has since the 1990s had a focus on its high performance and elite rowing programs. Supported by the University's Sports Union the Club has developed an increasing number of Olympic representative oarsmen and women in the new millennium with club members rowing in twenty-two seats in those Australian Olympic crews who represented between Athens 2004 and Tokyo 2021.
UTS Haberfield Rowing Club in Sydney was formed as Haberfield Rowing Club in 1925. It has occupied its current site on Port Jackson's, Iron Cove at Dobroyd Point since 1926. The club had a senior and lightweight Sydney premiership & national competition focus until 1992 when it became aligned with the University of Technology, Sydney and since then it has also been a varsity club. Its elite program has enjoyed great success since the 1990s with a number of the club's oarsmen and women making Australian Olympic selection since then.
Rob Mitchell is an Australian lightweight rower. He is a former world champion and an Australian national champion. He won a gold medal at the 1997 World Rowing Championships in Aiguebelette with the lightweight men's eight.

Laura Dunn is an Australian former lightweight rower. She is a three-time national champion and won a silver medal at the 2014 World Rowing Championships.
Andrew Black is an Australian former representative lightweight rower. He won a bronze medal at the 2000 World Rowing Championships.
Georgina Rowe is an Australian national representative rower, an Olympian and medallist at the 2018 and 2019 World Rowing Championships. She was a 2016 indoor rowing Australian champion and a winner of the Remenham Challenge Cup at the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Paul Francis Rowe was an Australian representative rower and elite level rowing coach. He was an eight-time Australian national champion in both sweep oared and sculling boats across both lightweight and open divisions. He was Australia's lightweight sculling representative at the 1975 World Rowing Championships. He coached scullers and crews to three Australia national title wins and to world championships and to Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
