The James R. Browning U.S. Court of Appeals Building is a historic post office and courthouse building located at San Francisco, California. It is a courthouse for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Completed in 1905 as the U.S. Courthouse and Post Office, it was intended to represent the affluence and increasing importance of the United States as it became a world power. The building survived both the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

Constructed from 1902 to 1905, the United States District Court for the District of Indiana met here until it was subdivided in 1928; the United States Circuit Court for the District of Indiana met here until that court was abolished in 1912. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as "U.S. Courthouse and Post Office" in 1974. The courthouse was renamed in honor of Senator Birch Bayh in 2003.

The building now serves only as a federal courthouse, housing operations of the eastern division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. In 2018, the operations of the Rock Island division of the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois were also moved there.

The Erie Federal Courthouse and Post Office, also known as Erie Federal Courthouse, in Erie, Pennsylvania, is a complex of buildings that serve as a courthouse of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and house other federal functions. The main courthouse building was built in 1937 in Moderne architecture style. It served historically as a courthouse, as a post office, and as a government office building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. By the late 1980s, the federal courts needed more space to effectively serve the public. To resolve the space shortage, the General Services Administration undertook a bold plan to purchase, restore, and adaptively use two adjacent historic buildings: the Main Library and the Isaac Baker & Son Clothing Store. The existing courthouse was rehabilitated and two additions were constructed. Each of the buildings in the complex is of a different architectural style.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It continues to house the Bankruptcy court for the Western District of Oklahoma. The building includes Moderne and Beaux Arts.

It was built in 1906 and was designed by James Knox Taylor in the Beaux-Arts style. Known in the 1970s as the Smith-Goldberg U.S. Army Reserve Center, it served historically as a custom house and post office. It currently houses the Chittenden County Superior Court, after the previous county courthouse burned down in 1982.

The U.S. Post Office, also known as the Berkeley Main Post Office, is a local branch of the United States Postal Service. The building, located at 2000 Allston Way Berkeley, California, was built in 1914-15.The building has been described as a "free adaptation of Brunelleschi's Foundling Hospital." Designed in the Second Renaissance Revival style, the front of the building features terra cotta arches supported by plain tuscan columns.
The Melvin Price Federal Building and United States Courthouse, historically known as the United States Post Office and Courthouse, is a historic federal building located at 750 Missouri Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois. The building served as the city's main post office and still serves as the courthouse of the Southern District of Illinois; it is named for U.S. Representative Charles Melvin Price. Supervising Architect James Knox Taylor designed the Beaux-Arts building in 1907; construction began the following year and was completed in 1909. The building's design features a projecting pavilion above the front entrance with four pairs of columns supporting a pediment; the columns frame a three-bay arcade which once housed the courtroom windows. Quoins at the corners and on projecting elements, alternating arched and pedimented windows on the second floor, and a cornice with a balustrade also decorate the building. Two wings in a matching design were added to the building in 1918, and a modern annex was placed on the rear in 1986.
The former United States Post Office is a historic building located in Creston, Iowa, United States. Built in 1901, the building housed the post office on the main floor and a federal courtroom on the second floor. The combination Beaux-Arts and Georgian Revival structure was designed by James Knox Taylor who was the Supervising Architect of the United States Department of the Treasury. The Beaux-Arts style is found in the cornice, lucarnes, portico, and the door and window enframements. The Georgian Revival is found in the general mass and elevation of the building, window detail, use of brick, the hipped roof, and the division of the main facade into a projecting central pavilion and single-bay wings. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The post office has subsequently been relocated to a more modern building, and this building has been converted into commercial space.

Numerous buildings in the city have held state height records, dating as far back as 1902, and last holding a record in 1981.
