Initiative for Catalonia Greens was an eco-socialist political party in Catalonia. It was formed as a merger of Iniciativa per Catalunya and Els Verds. IC had been an alliance led by Partit Socialista Unificat de Catalunya and was the equivalent of Izquierda Unida in Catalonia. IC later developed into a political party, and PSUC was dissolved.
The Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia was a communist political party active in Catalonia between 1936 and 1997. It was the Catalan branch of the Communist Party of Spain and the only party not from a sovereign state to be a full member of the Third International.

The Catalan Agreement of Progress, rebranded as Agreement for Catalonia Progress in 2011, was a union of center-left and left wing political parties in Catalonia. Initiative for Catalonia Greens–United and Alternative Left was an electoral alliance formed by Initiative for Catalonia Greens and United and Alternative Left to contest elections in Catalonia. Since 2015 both parties have participated in several coalitions: En Comú Podem for the 2015 and 2016 general elections, Catalunya Sí que es Pot for the 2015 Catalan regional election, and Catalunya en Comú for the 2017 Catalan regional election. Currently, they are represented in the Spanish Congress of Deputies within En Comú Podem and in the Parliament of Catalonia within Catalunya en Comú–Podem.
Catalunya Sí que es Pot was a left-wing coalition composed of Podemos, Initiative for Catalonia Greens (ICV) and United and Alternative Left (EUiA). It was formed in 2015 to stand in the Catalan election scheduled for 27 September that year.

Republican Left of Catalonia–Sovereigntists was an electoral coalition formed in Catalonia for the April 2019 Spanish general election by Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) and Sovereigntists (Sobiranistes). It was led by Oriol Junqueras, Gabriel Rufián and Carolina Telechea, with a member from Sobiranistes being reserved 4th place in the list for Barcelona.
Joan Josep Nuet i Pujals is a Spanish politician from Catalonia who previously served as Member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain. He was previously a member of the Senate of Spain and the Parliament of Catalonia.
Elisenda Alamany i Gutiérrez is a Spanish teacher and politician, currently serving as a member of the City Council of Barcelona, since June 2019. From January 2018 to April 2019 she was a deputy in the 12th Legislature of the Parliament of Catalonia. Initially part of the coalition Catalunya en Comú–Podem, she was the spokesperson for its parliamentary group from 18 January to 29 October 2018. In October 2018, she promoted the platform Sobiranistes (Sovereigntists) as a criticism of the leadership of En Comú Podem. In February 2019 she left the parliamentary group but kept her seat. On 24 February 2019, she announced the creation of the party Nova.
United Left Catalonia is the current regional branch of United Left (IU) in Catalonia. It was formed in July 2019, after IU suspended its collaboration with United and Alternative Left (EUiA) in June and subsequently expelled the party from its organization structure as a result of some EUiA members—including its leader Joan Josep Nuet—chose to break away from Catalunya en Comú in March 2019 into the Sobiranistes party, then ally themselves with Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) ahead of the April 2019 Spanish general election.
