Unity (Georgian :Ertoba) is a left-wing political party in Georgia. At the 2004 Georgian parliamentary election, the party was part of the Jumber Patiashvili - Unity alliance.

The hammer and sickle is a symbol meant to represent proletarian solidarity – a union between agricultural and industrial workers. It was first adopted during the Russian Revolution, the hammer representing workers and the sickle representing the peasants.

The Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic was one of the republics of the Soviet Union from its second occupation in 1921 to its independence in 1991. It was established in 1988 by Giorgi Chanturia as a radical splinter group of the Ilia Chavchavadze Society, although an earlier party with the same name also existed among the Georgian intelligentsia and in the Democratic Republic of Georgia from 1917 to 1924.

Parliamentary elections were held in South Ossetia on 31 May 2009. The result was a victory for the ruling Unity Party, which won seventeen of the 34 seats. Two opposition parties were not permitted to run out of concern that they might not be loyal to President Eduard Kokoity.
The Unity Party was a major political party with a socially conservative ideology in South Ossetia during the 2000s. South Ossetia is a partially recognized Caucasian republic, considered by most countries to be a part of Georgia. The Unity Party, founded in 2003, supported former President Eduard Kokoity, and was for a decade the largest political party in South Ossetia. After the 2009 elections, the party held 17 out of 34 seats in South Ossetia's parliament. The beginning of Georgian nationalism can be traced to the middle of the 19th century, when Georgia was part of the Russian Empire. From being more culture-focused in the Imperial Russian and Soviet periods, it went through several phases, evolving into radical ethnocentric in the late 1980s and early in the post-Soviet independence years, and to a more inclusive and civic-oriented form in the mid-2000s. However, vestiges of ethnic nationalism remain among many Georgians.
Strategy Aghmashenebeli, sometimes translated as Strategy Builder, is a political party in Georgia founded by Giorgi Vashadze, who along with supporters left the UNM after a party conflict. Strategy Aghmashenebeli has declared itself as following liberal principles. The party took part in the 2016 Georgian parliamentary election in the bloc State for a People, led by Paata Burchuladze, but only obtaining 3.45% of votes, it could not overcome the barrier to enter the Parliament.

The alliance named Grigol Vashadze as a presidential candidate for the 2018 Georgian presidential election. Coalition got 27,14% and 36 mandates at 2020 parliamentary elections.

The co-founders of the party are: Human Rights Defender Mikheil Ramishvili and Irakli Ghlonti. It was a member of the coalition "Strength is in Unity" until 2020, when it joined with New Georgia to form the coalition Strategy Aghmashenebeli. The party is pro-European and plans to take part in the 2020 parliamentary elections.
