University of Ghana Business School formerly School of Administration is the undergraduate and post graduate Business School of the University of Ghana in Accra Ghana. It is also the premier and the largest Business School in Ghana. [1]
UGBS came into existence by an Executive Instrument (E.I.127) by the Government of Ghana Accra in January, 1960. It was then known as College of Administration and situated on Western the campus of Achimota School with the old which became the nucleus of KNUST. The School was renamed School of Administration in 1962 and eventually the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) is 2004. [2] [3]
The University of Ghana Business currently runs undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Before 2004 the school had only four departments. It was after 2004 that the school was departmentalized into six departments. [4] these departments are, Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Organization and Human Resource Management, Operations and Management Information Systems and finally Public Administration and Health Management.

Accra Academy is a non-denominational day and boarding boys' school located at Bubuashie near Kaneshie in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana. The school was established as a private secondary educational institution in 1931 and gained the status of a Government-Assisted School in 1950. It was the first private academy to be established in the Gold Coast, and is regarded as one of the foremost secondary educational institutions in Ghana.
The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) is a public co-educational university spread over four campuses and made up of six schools, ten research centers located at Greenhill in Accra, Ghana. The location of GIMPA, Greenhill, was named by Nicholas T. Clerk who served as the Rector of the Institute from 1977 to 1982. The name, "Greenhill", is a reference to the lush greenery and hilly topography of the main campus, as well as its location in Legon which was historically on the periphery of the Ghanaian capital, Accra. Together with 200 state institutions, GIMPA successfully participated in a Public Sector Reform Programme under the auspices of the World Bank and became a self-financing institution as part of the National Institutional Reform Programme in 2001. It was established as a public university by an Act of Parliament in 2004. The institute was established in 1961 by the Government of Ghana with assistance from the United Nations Special Fund Project and was initially called the Institute of Public Administration, intended as a specialist training graduate school for civil servants in Ghana. Today, GIMPA offers bachelor's, master's and executive master's degree programmes in business administration, entrepreneurship, law, public administration, development management, governance, leadership and technology.
The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) formerly known as Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), is a public university in Ghana. The main campus is located in Accra. UPSA is the first university in Ghana to provide both academic and business professional education. The University of Professional Studies Act, 2012 (Act 850) changed the name of the Institute of Professional Studies to University of Professional Studies, Accra. UPSA is nationally and internationally accredited by the National Accreditation Board (Ghana) and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) respectively.
The 2010 Ghana Movie Awards was the maiden edition of the ceremony to reward cinematic achievement in Ghana Film Industry. The event was held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra on 25 December 2010. His latest work 'Made in Nima' has been featured in the new Commonwealth Anthology which was published in May 2016 Safe House: Explorations into Creative Non-Fiction. Akpabli has four books to his credit and currently works as a lecturer at Central University College in Ghana. Professor Elsie A. B. Effah Kaufmann is a Ghanaian academic, academic administrator, biomedical engineer, and current host of the National Science and Maths Quiz. In December 2020, Elsie Kaufmann was appointed an associate professor at the University of Ghana, and was appointed the Dean of the School of Engineering Sciences on 1 August 2022.
