Modern Times Group (MTG) is a digital entertainment company based in Stockholm, Sweden. It formed from the media holdings of investment company Kinnevik, which in 1997 was distributed to the company stockholders. It is a strategic and operational investment holding company, managing a portfolio including gaming companies InnoGames, Ninja Kiwi and Kongregate, and digital network company Zoomin.TV.
Viasat was a satellite and pay television brand, co-owned by the Swedish media group Viaplay Group in the Nordic countries, Antenna Group in Hungary, and by Viasat World internationally. Glenn Peter Strömberg is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. A full international between 1982 and 1990, he won 52 caps and scored 7 goals for the Sweden national team, and represented his country at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He was awarded Guldbollen in 1985 as Sweden's best footballer of the year.
Canal Digital was a Nordic pay TV and internet service provider in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland that was founded in March 1997 as a joint venture between the French pay TV company Canal+ and the Norwegian telecommunications operator Telenor.
C More Entertainment AB was a pay television company that previously operated as Canal+. It targets Nordic countries and has a separate channel in Sweden.
TV6 is a Swedish television channel broadcasting owned by Viaplay Group. It has origins in the youth channel ZTV that started broadcasting in the early 1990s. In 2004, MTG started repositioning the channel by introducing sports broadcasts and other programming that mainly targeted men.
Viasat Sport 2 was a Scandinavian soccer channel. The channel started February 1, 2004 together with Viasat Sport 3. Viasat Sport 2 has the rights to Manchester United TV and Chelsea TV. Viasat Sport 2 also shows the UEFA Champions League, the Dutch Eredivise, the Danish SAS Ligaen, the French Ligue 1, the UEFA Euro Qualifications, the FA Cup, The Italian Serie A, Football League Championship, Coppa Italia and the World Cup qualifications.
V Sport is the common brand of several sports channels targeting the Nordic countries, owned by Viaplay Group. The brand has been introduced in June 2020, replacing the former brands Viasat Sport and Viasport. Its main competitors are TV 2 Sport (Denmark), TV 2 Sport (Norway), TV4 Sport (Sweden), MTV Urheilu (Finland) and Eurosport.
TV4 Sport was a Swedish sports television channel owned by television company TV4 AB, with the tabloid newspaper Expressen owning a minor share. In April 2014, a sports channel similar to TV4 Sport is launched as TV12 by the same company, replacing sv:TV4 Sport Xtra.
