Robert W. Wirch is an American Democratic politician from Kenosha County, Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing Wisconsin's 22nd Senate district since 1997. He previously served two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, from 1993 to 1997, and served on the Kenosha County Board of Supervisors before that.
Alberta Darling is an American educator, politician and former member of the Wisconsin State Senate. She represented Wisconsin's 8th State Senate district from 1993 through 2022 as a Republican. Her constituency included many of the municipalities directly north and northwest of Milwaukee and part of the city of Milwaukee. She also served three years in the Wisconsin State Assembly. John W. Lehman is an American educator and politician from Racine, Wisconsin. Lehman represented the 21st District in the Wisconsin Senate from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2012 to 2015, and was the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin in 2014. Previously, Lehman was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1997 through 2007. Elected as a state senator in 2006 but unseated in 2010, Lehman retook his old seat in the 2012 Wisconsin recall elections, defeating the incumbent, Van Wanggaard, who won the seat back in the 2014 general election.
Jerry Petrowski is an American politician and a former ginseng, dairy and beef farmer. He is a former Republican member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing the 29th Senate District from 2012-2023, and a former State Representative, representing the 86th Assembly District from 1999 to 2012.

Recall elections for four Wisconsin state senators were held during the spring of 2012. Voters put four state senators up for recall, all Republicans, because of the budget repair bill proposed by Governor Scott Walker and circumstances surrounding it. Democrats targeted Republicans for voting to significantly limit public employee collective bargaining. Scholars could cite only four times in American history when more than one state legislator has been recalled at roughly the same time over the same issue. The recall elections occurred on June 5, with May 8 being the date of the primary election.

Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district comprises the northeast corner of Kenosha County, including all of the village of Somers and the northern half of the city of Kenosha. The district also contains the University of Wisconsin–Parkside campus, Carthage College, the Kenosha campus of Gateway Technical College, and Kenosha Regional Airport. The district is represented by Democrat Tip McGuire, since May 2019.

The 2015 Wisconsin Spring Election was held in the U.S. state of Wisconsin on April 7, 2015. There was a contested election for justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as well as several other nonpartisan local and judicial elections and an amendment to the Constitution of Wisconsin to change the process for selection of the chief justice of the State Supreme Court. In addition, the ballot contained a special election to fill a vacancy in the 20th State Senate district. The 2015 Wisconsin Spring Primary was held February 17, 2015.

The 2011 Wisconsin Spring Election was held in the U.S. state of Wisconsin on April 5, 2011. The featured race at the top of the ticket was a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which was seen as an early referendum on the policies of the newly inaugurated governor, Scott Walker. Several other nonpartisan local and judicial offices were also decided on the April ballot, including mayoral elections in some of Wisconsin's larger cities—Green Bay, Madison, and Racine. Republicans' preferred candidate, incumbent justice David Prosser Jr., won the Supreme Court election by a narrow margin that resulted in a contentious recount. The 2011 Wisconsin Spring Primary was held February 15, 2011.

Before the election, 58 Assembly seats were held by Republicans, 38 seats were held by Democrats, 1 was held by an independent, and 2 were vacant. The primary election was held on August 14, 2012.
The 2014 Wisconsin Senate elections were held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the Fall general election in Wisconsin. Seventeen of the 33 seats in the Wisconsin Senate were up for election—the odd-numbered districts. Before the election, Republicans held 17 seats, Democrats held 15 seats, and 1 seat was vacant. Of the seats up for election, 7 were held by Democrats, 9 were held by Republicans, and 1 was vacant due to the resignation of a Republican member. The primary election was held on August 12, 2014.
