Vancouver Waldorf School

The Vancouver Waldorf School is an independent Waldorf school with preschool, kindergarten and grades 1 to 12. [1] [2] The administrative offices, early childhood centre, and grade school are located at 2725 St Christophers Road in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The high school is at a separate location in Edgemont Village and the Lifeways childcare centre is in Moodyville. The curriculum includes an emphasis on experiential learning. [2]

The school is a member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. [3]

The Hotel at the Waldorf is a boutique hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The hotel was established in 1947 and was one of the most renowned tiki-themed hotels in North America. In 2010, Thomas Anselmi and Ernesto Gomez took over operations and the hotel was renovated into a boutique hotel. The building was home to one of Vancouver's most popular music venues until January 2013 when it was sold to Solterra with plans to rezone the property and make way for condominiums. There was a public outcry to save the land, building and cultural institution that included a petition that received 23,000 signatures. In response, Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson issued a public statement decrying the loss, which critics denounced as a "sentimental bid for hipster votes."

About 50% of students at the high school also attended the grade school, the rest coming from public, parochial, and other independent schools. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).

Goh Ballet Academy is a school of classical ballet in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded in 1978, the Goh Ballet Academy offers dance and ballet classes for children and adults, and has also toured internationally. Former principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada, Chan-hon Goh is currently the director of the academy.
