Vans Bowl-A-Rama

Bowl-A-Rama was a skateboarding event held annually at Bondi Beach until 2018, and previously Wellington until 2014 and once in New York City in 2012. [1] [2] Founded in 2005, it was the richest skateboard competition in terms of prize money in Australia and New Zealand and was broadcast live on Fuel TV Australia. Vans held the naming rights to the event until 2018 when General Pants Co. Bowl-A-Rama.

The event was last held in 2018 at Bondi Beach. [3] The 2019 event was rescheduled to 2020, however the event did not go ahead. [4]

The 1080 is a skateboarding trick that can be performed on a vertical skateboard ramp or on a mega ramp, in which the skateboarder makes three full revolutions while airborne. It was first completed successfully on a mega ramp in 2012 by American skateboarder Tom Schaar, and on a vert ramp in May 2020 by Brazilian skateboarder Gui Khury. The 1080 has only been landed after a fakie ollie, meaning the rider is in the normal stance, but rolling in the opposite direction, popping off of the tail.

Tom Schaar is an American professional skateboarder. He was the first skateboarder to land a "1080," which is three revolutions. He became the youngest X Games gold medalist after completing the first 1080 in a competition at the 2012 Asia X Games in Shanghai; youngest Dew Tour champion, the youngest Vans Pool Party champion, and the youngest "Big Air" gold medalist at the Austin X Games. Before turning 18 years old, Schaar was a nine-time X Games Medalist. On March 20, 2019 Schaar was named to the first-ever U.S.A Skateboarding National Team and will be competing for a spot to represent the USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The 16 members of the inaugural U.S.A Skateboarding National Team were announced in March, 2019. The skaters competed to qualify for Skateboarding at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Twelve American skateboarders qualified for the 2020 Olympics.

Keegan Palmer is an Australian goofy-footed professional skateboarder specialising in park skating. He turned professional at the age of 14. Palmer has been sponsored by Nike SB, Primitive, Oakley, Independent, Bones Wheels, Bronson Speed Co., Mob, and Boost Mobile. Palmer has been ranked ranked #7 in the World Skate male park rankings.

Kieran Woolley is an Australian skateboarder known for his technical abilities and innovative style.

The 2022 Bahamas Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 16, 2022, at Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. The eighth annual Bahamas Bowl, the game featured the UAB Blazers, from Conference USA, and the Miami RedHawks, from the Mid-American Conference. The game began at 11:35 a.m. EST and aired on ESPN. It was the first of the 2022–23 bowl games concluding the 2022 FBS football season. Sponsored by mortgage lender HomeTown Lenders, it was officially known as the HomeTown Lenders Bahamas Bowl.
