Victoria Schmidt is a New Zealand theatre, film and television actress. [1] She is most known for her role as Aaliyah in Sione's Wedding (2006). She is also a playwright. [2]
Schmidt was born and raised in South Auckland, New Zealand and is of Samoan descent. Her parents are Samoan immigrants Fred Bismarck Schmidt and Agnes Schmidt (née Wright). She graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts from Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland. [1]
She has appeared in Sione's Wedding, Running With The Bulls, Othello Polynesia, Tautai and The Factory. Her first full-length, professionally produced play was Music and Me, which was staged at the Mangere Arts Centre in 2012. She both wrote and appeared in the play. [1]
Schmidt is based in the United States and divides her time between Los Angeles, California, and New Hampshire. She is also the niece of professional Samoan bodybuilder and former 1995 Masters Olympia Sonny Schmidt and the grand-niece of the former Minister of Labour for Samoa; Polataivao Fosi Schmidt.

In 2012, she was cast as Sibyl in Spartacus: War of the Damned, a television series on the Starz network. Amanaki Lelei Prescott-Faletau is an actor, writer, dancer, choreographer, producer and director of Tongan descent, living in New Zealand. As a playwright, she became the first fakaleitī to have her work published in New Zealand with Inky Pinky Ponky. This play was awarded Best Teenage Script (2015) by New Zealand Playmarket. As an actor, she was awarded best performance at the 2015 Auckland Fringe Festival for Victor Rodger's Girl on the Corner. Her acting credits include The Breaker Upperers (2018), SIS (2020), The Panthers (2021), The Pact (2021) and Sui Generis (2022), in which she is also a writer for the TV series. Faletau competed as a dancer in the World Hip Hop Dance Championships in 2011 and has been a judge at the National Hip Hop Championships in New Zealand over several years.
