Vodochody is a municipality and village in Prague-East District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 800 inhabitants.
The village of Hoštice is an administrative part of Vodochody.
The name is derived from the words voda ('water') and chodit ('walk'). The name referred to "village of people who walk on water", which probably meant "village of fishermen". [2]
Vodochody is located about 10 kilometres (6 mi) north of Prague. It lies in the Prague Plateau.

In the municipal territory there is a small airport, Vodochody Airport. It serves to the aircraft construction company Aero Vodochody, which is located in neighbouring Odolena Voda.
