Voice of Wits 88.1FM(VoW 88.1 FM) is a campus radio station operated by students of the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg, South Africa. VoW FM broadcasts on the 88.1 MHz frequency from a 1 watt transmitter located at University Corner, just outside the Johannesburg CBD in Braamfontein. [1] The Station Manager is Shoeshoe Qhu who was appointed in July 2019.

According to the South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF), as of January 2011 VoW FM had a listenership of 11,000 people. In July 2011, VoW FM and BBC World Service entered into a partnership, and BBC news and sports bulletins are now broadcast by VoW FM. [2]

Braamfontein Place in Gauteng, South Africa

Braamfontein is a central suburb of Johannesburg, in South Africa, seat of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and some of South Africa's major corporations such as Liberty Holdings Limited, JD Group, Sappi, Bidvest Bank and Hollard. UJFM

UJFM 95.4 is a Community Radio Station, based at the University of Johannesburg, Bunting Road Campus. Previously known as RAU Radio, the station obtained a four-year community broadcasting licence in February 2004 on the frequency 95.4fm broadcasting under a new name. Broadcasting over a 50 km radius from the campus, the station employs registered students as well as outside presenters. The station aims to allow all staff members to learn and operate within a commercial station environment. Many ex-UJFM staff members have gone on to achieve success on radio and on other various media platforms.

Jan Smuts Avenue is a major street in Johannesburg, South Africa. It begins in Randburg, and passes through important business areas like Rosebank. It passes the Johannesburg Zoo, Zoo Lake and Wits University before becoming Bertha Street, and the Nelson Mandela Bridge near the Johannesburg CBD. The campuses of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg contain a number of notable buildings. There are five campuses: East Campus and West Campus are located in Braamfontein on opposite sides of the M1 highway, while the Education Campus and the Medical and Management schools are located in Parktown.

M9 is a major metropolitan route in Johannesburg, South Africa. Passing through the heart of the Witwatersrand, it connects the southern suburbs of Johannesburg via the centre of Johannesburg, with the northern suburbs and business centres of Rosebank and Sandton before ending in the outer northern suburbs.
