Where the Ancestors' Souls Gathered is the debut studio album by Taiwanese black metal band Chthonic, released in 1999. The album was only available in Taiwan, and is now out of print and original copies of the album are very hard to find, though it is occasionally found online being sold at high prices. [2] The album was released in LP format by Fredmosa Records in 2002. This was the only album by the band that was never made in an alternative English version, however, English print does appear on certain areas of the artwork.

This is the band's only album with guitarist Null, bassist Xiao-Yu and drummer Xiao-Wang.

Chthonic is a Taiwanese heavy metal band, formed in 1995 in Taipei. They have been called "the Black Sabbath of Asia." The group incorporates influences from traditional Taiwanese music, including adaptations of folk songs and the use of traditional instruments, most notably the erhu. Their stated goal is to use their music to bring ancient history and mythology into the modern era especially to build awareness of the myths of Taiwan and tragic events in that country's history.

Xiao Juan and Residents From the Valley (小娟和山谷里的居民) is a Chinese folk band founded in 1998, with Wang Xiujuan as lead singer. She was born in Wuhan, Hubei province, and started to sing when she was 3 years old. She studied finance and law, but decided to have a career as a singer. In 1993, she came to Beijing as a university student, and started to write songs. She became a full-time singer/songwriter a year later. She first was the lead singer of the electronica duo Gemini Trip. Xiao Juan is handicapped and cannot travel very comfortably.
