Wilmer Amina Carter High School is a high school located in Rialto, California, United States.

Organization

The school is managed by the Rialto Unified School District. It was named for American politician Wilmer Carter and was the first high school in the Inland Empire named after a living African-American woman. [3] The school's mascot is a lion and consequently, the athletics teams are called 'Lions'.

History

School construction began in 2001 and the school opened (still unfinished) for the 2004–05 school year, [3] with its first graduating class in 2005–06 school year. [4]

Facilities

The two-story facility has eighteen buildings and includes a football stadium that seats over 2,500, a performing arts theatre that accommodates over 800, a multipurpose room (MPR) that accommodates over 600, and a three full-court gymnasium with the capacity for 2,400 spectators. [1]

Carter High School also has a joint-use County Public Library on its campus that is open for students to use throughout the school day and Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. [1] In addition, CHS has a dedicated science building that includes four full science labs for hands-on lessons. [1] The school has five full computer labs and a mobile computer lab that is used for English Learner (EL) instruction in the ELD III classroom. [1]

The 2007 Green Bay Packers season was the franchise's 89th overall and 87th season in the National Football League (NFL). The Packers finished the regular season with a 13–3 record. The 2011 season was the New Orleans Saints' 45th in the National Football League (NFL), their 36th playing home games at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and their sixth under head coach Sean Payton. In Week 16, Drew Brees broke the single-season passing record previously held by Dan Marino; Brees ended the season with 5,476 passing yards, an NFL record. The team also broke the record for offensive yards from scrimmage with 7,474 and Darren Sproles broke the record for all purpose yards, with 2,696. The Sunkist League is now a part of the Arrowhead Athletic Conference. The conference has 3 leagues, San Andreas League, Sunkist League, and Skyline League. All 15 schools for boys and girls sports can move freely through the 3 leagues through means of competitive balance. The Arrowhead Athletic Conference was initially founded with schools that included the San Andreas League, the Sunkist League, and Wilmer Amina Carter High School during the 2020-2021 school year. Notre Dame High School was later added for the 2022-2023 school year from the Raincross Conference.

Kenneth Duane Clark Jr. is an American football defensive end for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). Playing college football for the UCLA Bruins, he was named a third-team All-American as a junior in 2015, when he also earned his second all-conference selection in the Pac-12. He was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft, with the 27th overall pick.
