The World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) is an international wushu competition organized by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for competitors below 18 years of age. There are three age groups for the Taolu events and there is also a Sanda category. [1]

Group A has existed since the first rendition of the championships. The age group was originally 16-18 but changed to 15-17 as a result of a vote in 2019. From 2006 to 2012, Group A athletes were required to compete using the IWUF second set of compulsory routines. In 2014 and 2016, this was changed to the IWUF third set of compulsory routines. In early 2018, Group A were allowed to do optional routines instead of compulsory routines, and would be judged without the Degree of Difficulty requirement.
Group A athletes who placed in the top six in the 2014 World Junior Wushu Championships were allowed to compete in the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China where Wushu was a demonstration sport. Wushu was also part of the 2014 Nanjing Sports Lab which was a promotional event for non-Olympic sports which also included sport climbing, skateboarding, and roller skating. [11] Group A athletes who qualify would also be able to compete in the Wushu event at the 2022 Summer Youth Olympics in Dakar, Senegal, [12] which has been postponed to 2026.
Group B has existed since the first rendition of the championships. The age group was originally 13-15 but changed to 12-14 as a result of a vote in 2019. Group B athletes have always been required to compete with the IWUF first set of compulsory routines.
Group C was introduced in 2008. The age group was originally 9-12 but changed to 7-11 as a result of a vote in 2019. Group C athletes have always been required to compete with the IWUF elementary routines.
The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) is an international sport organization and is the governing body for wushu in all its forms worldwide. The IWUF is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and is also a member of the ARISF, GAISF, FISU, IWGA, and the ISF.
Wushu, or Kung fu, is a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as a full-contact combat sport. It has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. It was developed in 1949 in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts, yet attempts to structure the various decentralized martial arts traditions date back earlier, when the Central Guoshu Institute was established at Nanking in 1928.
The World Wushu Championships (WWC) is an international sports championship hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for the sports of wushu taolu and sanda (sanshou). It has been held biennially since 1991 and is the pinnacle event of the IWUF. The World Wushu Championships also coincides with the IWUF Congress as well as with various committee meetings. This competition additionally serves as the qualification event for the Taolu World Cup and the Sanda World Cup.
The 2008 Beijing Wushu Tournament was a wushu competition which was held from August 21 to 24, 2008 at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing, China. The tournament was organised by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG), the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), and the Chinese Wushu Association (CWA), and was held in tandem with the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Mohammed Hussein Al-Ashwal is a Yemeni Wushu martial artist. He was born on 20 October 1983 in Muharraq, Bahrain. He won bronze medals in the men's 48 kg sanshou category at both the 2003 and 2005 World Wushu championships.
The European Wushu Championships is a wushu competition organized by the European Wushu Federation, an official continental federation of the International Wushu Federation. The first championships were held in Brussels, Belgium in May 1986, with 70 athletes from eight participating member countries.
Indonesia competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, in Nanjing, China from 16 August to 28 August 2014. 27 athletes competed for Indonesia in this Youth Summer Olympics.
Agecroft Rowing Club is a rowing club based at Salford Quays, Greater Manchester, England. It was formerly based close to the Agecroft Hall in Pendleton 2 miles (3.2 km) north. Its current location is its third within today's City of Salford on a site close to the city centre of Manchester.
The Nacra 15 is a performance catamaran used for racing. It went into production in 2015. It was designed as a smaller version of the Olympic multihull class, the Nacra 17.
Athletics is one of the core sports on the programme for the Gymnasiade, an international multi-sport event organised by the International School Sport Federation (ISF). It has featured at all editions of the competition since 1976. An athletics competition was held the same year as the inaugural 1974 Gymnasiade, but was held separately at a different location. The event, contested by youth athletes under eighteen years old, was used as a reference point by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) when organising its first IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics in 1999.
The Cerebral Palsy Games are a multi-sport competition for athletes with a disability, which under the former name of the International Stoke Mandeville Games were the forerunner of the Paralympic Games. The competition has been formerly known as the International Cerebral Palsy Games or the Stoke Mandeville Games. The South African Wushu Federation (SAWF) is the national governing body for the development and promotion of the sport of wushu also known as kung fu in South Africa. The Federation was formed in 2002.
The World Trail Orienteering Championships (WTOC) were first held in 2004 and annually since them. The majority of the championships were held in Europe, with 2005 the only exception up to date.
Luge at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics took place at the St. Moritz-Celerina Olympic Bobrun from 17 to 20 January 2020.
The United States of America Wushu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF) is the governing body of wushu-kungfu in the United States. The USAWKF manages and selects the members of the US Wushu Team to compete in various international competitions including the World Wushu Championships, World Junior Wushu Championships, World Kungfu Championships, and the World Taijiquan Championships. The USAWKF also develops regional and national activities relating to Wushu, and has had great influence on how wushu taolu and sanda events are run in the United States. The USAWKF is a member of the Pan-American Wushu Federation (PAWF) and the International Wushu Federation (IWUF).
Zhao Qingjian is a retired professional wushu taolu athlete who is originally from Shandong. Through his numerous successes in national and international competitions, he established himself as one of the greatest wushu taolu athletes of the 2000s.
The 2014 Nanjing Youth Wushu Tournament was a wushu competition which was held from August 22 to 24, 2014 at the Gaochun Gymnasium in Nanjing, China. The name "Nanjing Youth Wushu Tournament" was used to specify that wushu was only an invitational sport at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and not an official event.
Daria Tarasova is a former competitive wushu taolu athlete and coach from Russia. She is the most renowned Russian wushu athlete of all time.
The Argentina men's national under-21 field hockey team represents Argentina in men's international under-21 field hockey competitions and is controlled by the Argentine Hockey Confederation, the governing body for field hockey in Argentina.
