The Wrightsman House, at 209 Bauer Ave. in Mancos, Colorado, was built in 1903. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997; the listing included three contributing buildings. It has also been known as the Wrightsman Hotel. [1]

It was originally built in 1903 to serve as a residence and hospital, but was serving as a hotel by 1917. In 1995 it was converted to a bed and breakfast. [2]

It is a large two-and-a-half-story eclectic stone house, amidst a wide area of lawn and mature trees. The house is built of quarried sandstone from foothills to the southwest of Mancos which were also used in building the Mancos High School (1909). [2]

The property includes a carriage house and a historic privy. [2]

The Lake Hotel is one of a series of hotels built to accommodate visitors to Yellowstone National Park in the late 19th and early 20th century. Built in 1891, it is the oldest operating hotel in the park. It was re-designed and substantially expanded by Robert Reamer, architect of the Old Faithful Inn in 1903. In contrast to the Old Faithful Inn and many other western park facilities, the Lake Hotel is a relatively plain clapboarded Colonial Revival structure with three large Ionic porticoes facing Yellowstone Lake. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2015.

Manor and Cottages is a historic resort complex and national historic district located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The complex encompassed 36 contributing buildings that were built starting in 1898. The main hotel, The Manor, was built starting in 1898–1899, and consists of a rambling group of interconnected wings with elements of the Colonial Revival, Shingle Style, and Tudor Revival styles. Wings were added to the original building in 1903 and 1913–1914. Located on the property are the contributing Club House and a 19 guest cottages built between 1899 and 1920. The hotel was later converted for use as a retirement hotel for elderly persons with limited incomes.

Morse and Wade Building, also known as the Yadkin Valley Hotel, is a historic commercial building located at East Bend, Yadkin County, North Carolina. It was built about 1890, and is a two-story, brick building on a brick foundation. It has Italianate style design elements including arched window and door openings. The building initially housed the Yadkin Valley Hotel in the east half and the Morse and Wade Store in the west half. From about 1903 to 1940, it housed a tobacco bag factory. It is the oldest known commercial building in East Bend.

Klondike Hotel United States historic place

The Klondike Hotel, also known as the Park Hotel, is a historic building located in Manilla, Iowa, United States. The economic fortunes of Manilla rose and fell with the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. The two-story, frame, Italianate style hotel was built by H.J. Kopak in 1897. F.M. Offineer was its first owner. The building features a hipped roof, bracketed eaves, and a full-length front porch. It was built a block away from the Milwaukee depot. It served both passengers and crews from trains that had an overnight layover in Manilla. In the early 20th-century Manilla became the junction on the Milwaukee's mainline across Iowa where trains continued on to Omaha or on to the Pacific extension through South Dakota and across the American West. The hotel's name was changed to the Park Hotel in 1903, and an addition was built onto the rear of the hotel in 1905. It went through a succession of owners, and its financial success was dependent on the business brought to it by the railroad. The hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Adair County Democrat–Adair County Free Press Building United States historic place

Adair County Democrat–Adair County Free Press Building is a historic building located in Greenfield, Iowa, United States. Designed by architect John Karl, it was completed in 1903. The two-story brick structure features an asymmetrical facade with four round arched openings, and a corbelled brick cornice. It was built by Edwin J. Sidey and his father John S. Sidey, who founded the Adair County Democrat in 1889, and was later renamed the Adair County Free Press. Journalist Hugh Sidey was another of John S. Sidey's sons. The building is now a part of the adjacent Hotel Greenfield. It houses the restaurant, lounge, two hotel suites, and the laundry and housekeeping facilities. The building was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. In 2014 it was included as a contributing property in the Greenfield Public Square Historic District.

American House United States historic place

The American House, also known as the American Hotel, Evans Hotel, and Ryan House, is a historic building located in McGregor, Iowa, United States. Ohio native William H. Harding had the three-story structure built in 1854. It is a stone building that is covered with a brick veneer on the upper two floors. McGregor was a river port that immigrants used to get to western Iowa, southern Minnesota and points west. In the early years most people came to town via ferry or packet boats on the Mississippi River. They would leave by horse, stagecoach, wagon or train. The stagecoach departed from in front of the hotel. The ticket office for the railroad, which was located across Main Street, was established in the hotel lobby. An addition was constructed on the southwest side of the original building. The sunrooms were built above it in the 1970s and 1980s. The building was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. In 2002 it was listed as a contributing property in the McGregor Commercial Historic District.

Midwest Oil Company Hotel United States historic place

The Midwest Oil Company Hotel, at 136 East 6th Street in Casper, Wyoming, is an historic hotel building which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It has also served as the Casper Women's Club House. Originally built by the Midwest Oil Company to accommodate workers during the Casper oil boom, it was taken over by Standard Oil Company of Indiana when that company bought Midwest Oil. In the 1930s, in the waning days of oil production in Natrona County, a local women's organization bought the hotel for $8,000 and was renamed the Casper Women's Club House.

Mancos Opera House United States historic place

The Mancos Opera House, at 136 W. Grand Ave. in Mancos, Colorado, was built in 1910. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It has also been known as Checkerboard Hall.
