Sanda, formerly Sanshou, also known as Chinese boxing or Chinese kickboxing, is the official Chinese full contact combat sport. Sanda is a fighting system which was originally developed by the Chinese military based upon the study and practices of traditional Kung fu and modern combat fighting techniques; it combines full-contact kickboxing, which includes close range and rapid successive punches and kicks, with wrestling, takedowns, throws, sweeps, kick catches, and in some competitions, even elbow and knee strikes.
The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) is an international sport organization established on October 3, 1990 in Beijing, China during the 11th Asian summer Games to promote wushu and as the governing body for wushu in all its forms worldwide. Wushu comprises both traditional styles and sport disciplines. Sport wushu is divided into two parts: sanda and taolu (forms). Currently, the IWUF has 152 members, across 5 continental federations worldwide. The IWUF is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and is also a member of both ARISF and Sport Accord.

Wushu, or Chinese Kungfu, is a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as a full-contact sport. It has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. It was developed in 1949 in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts, yet attempts to structure the various decentralized martial arts traditions date back earlier, when the Central Guoshu Institute was established at Nanking in 1928.
The World Wushu Championships (WWC) are held every two years and are organised by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF). This official international Wushu competition sees many countries from around the world participating. Wushu originated in China and P.R.China has always won the most medals in these competitions.

The World Combat Games are an international multi-sport event featuring combat sports and martial arts. Age of Wushu is a free-to-play 3D martial arts action MMORPG, developed by Chinese company Snail. The game revolves around the Wuxia-inspired lore surrounding martial arts and adventures in Ming Dynasty China. The European version, Age of Wulin, which had been published by Webzen, closed in July 2017, with players being given the option of transferring to a new European server established as part of Age of Wushu, the version of the game published by Snail USA.
Dennis To Yu-hang is a Hong Kong martial artist and actor. He started his career as a wushu practitioner and won several awards at various competitions, including a silver medal at the 2002 Asian Games and a gold medal at the 2005 East Asian Games. He became an actor in 2007 and started by playing minor roles in Ip Man (2008), Bodyguards and Assassins (2009) and Ip Man 2 (2010). He is best known for his role as the Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man in the 2010 film The Legend Is Born – Ip Man.

Savate, for the 2013 World Combat Games, took place at the Sports Complex 'Yubileiny' Hall 2, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The medals were awarded on the 20 and 22 October 2013. Also, these Games marked the debut of this sport because it was not contested in the inaugural 2010 WCG. This sport was demonstrated at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris.
