Yashin were a British post-hardcore and metalcore band formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 2006. They have toured with the likes of Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Black Veil Brides & Madina Lake and have also played at Download Festival, T in the Park and Sonisphere.
The band was founded by school friends: Rick Shiels (bassist) and Paul Charles Travers (guitarist) in Greenock. The band named themselves Yashin as guitarist Paul Travers got nicknamed Yashin at school after the famous Russian goalkeeper Lev Yashin. Original vocalist, Michael Rice joined the band as he had similar tastes in music to Andrew and they met whilst studying at University. The search for a drummer was a success when David Beaton arrived on the scene, Rick chatted to David at one of the TBreak gigs at King Tut's, where both musicians played with their respective bands. But when the vacancy for the Yashin drummer became available Rick hunted David down. Once David had cemented his place in Yashin, he then in turn introduced the band to ex-school friend and guitarist Lewis Millen and Yashin was born.
Yashin quickly built up a following (Thanks to fellow Scottish band Flood of Red who took Yashin on the road). Yashin then released two EPs in 2008: Pay to Play and Miles Away But Getting Closer. Original vocalist Michael Rice announced his decision to leave the band in October 2008. During this transitional period, Yashin had booked a tour-swap with Swedish band Her Bright Skies and for the UK leg of the tour Deaf Havana frontmen: James Veck-Gilodi and Ryan Mellor came and fronted the band and raised the energy of the live shows. On the return leg of the tour in Sweden Jordan Spiers from Flood of Red came and filled in on vocals with the band to help Yashin out.
After a brief audition process the band chose to replace Rice with two vocalists, American born clean vocalist, Harry Radford of Priesthill and Scottish screamer/ singer, Kevin Miles of East Kilbride. The new line up embarked on a nine date UK tour in April 2009 supporting Madina Lake, The Audition and fellow friends Flood of Red. Yashin then continued to tour for most of the year in the UK and Europe before commencing recording their debut album Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them, with Romesh Dodangoda at Long Wave Studios in November 2009. The band played their biggest headline show (at the time) on 5 December 2009, selling out The Garage in their home town of Glasgow.
Yashin released their debut album, Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them, on 1 February 2010, which included a fan-favourite cover of "Everytime" by Britney Spears. In March 2010, the band headed out on a gruelling 38 date tour supporting Glamour of the Kill, where the sextet made new friends in the Yorkshire metallers. In December 2010 the band toured the UK supporting Emarosa, and on January 31, 2011, the band had the chance to open for A Day to Remember while playing the O2 Academy in Glasgow, as part of their European tour.[ citation needed ]
In March 2011, the band toured the UK in support of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, with Yashin headlining and selling out 3 of the biggest dates on the tour in Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow.[ citation needed ]
2011 Saw Yashin play 2nd Stage at Donington Download festival. They also played the Honour over Glory Stage at Slam Dunk festival along with Deaf Havana, We Are The Ocean and While She Sleeps. On 16–17 July 2011, the band then supported their childhood heroes Papa Roach on two shows in London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and Sheffield's O2 Academy, the US band's only two appearances in the UK for 2011. Yashin also went to mainland Europe with Papa Roach and played in Germany, Prague and Switzerland.
In June 2011, the band went on to support Korn at Glasgow's O2 Academy and play Download Festival at Donington and Nova Rock Festival in Austria. They then supported Black Veil Brides during their 2011 autumn UK and European tour, along with My Passion, to critical acclaim. The band supported The Blackout on 16 December, for their first show in Liverpool of their 'Christmas Hope Tour'.
Amongst the winter dates with Black Veil Brides and The Blackout, the band had been writing for their second studio album and demoing tracks with Tantrum To Blind guitarist and producer Simon Janlov.
On 27 February, the band announced that their new single "New Year or New York" would be released as a digital download single on Monday 5 March and also a limited edition signed CD. They also announced a new version of their debut album Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them called Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them: Revolution which includes songs from their second EP Miles Away But Getting Closer re-recorded with vocalists Harry and Kevin in the style they have been performing on stage for the last 3 years. The band embarked upon a tour in March 2012 known as 'The Last One Standing Tour' featuring support from Jody Has A Hitlist, With One Last Breath and Tantrum To Blind, this tour included selling out London's Underworld, a sellout Manchester Club Academy and Yashin stepped up to another bigger venue in Glasgow: the Arches, which was then the band's biggest headline show to date.
2012 also saw Yashin headline the Jägermeister stage at Download Festival, as well as supporting Limp Bizkit in London, Germany, The Netherlands and the Czech Republic. Yashin also played some more shows with Black Veil Brides across Europe including shows in Prague, The Netherlands and Poland. Yashin featured at Pukkelpop, Belgium's Premier music festival and Yashin also played at many more UK independent festivals in the summer of 2012: GuilFest, Merthyr Rocks, Butserfest and a memorable set at Hit The Deck.
Yashin released their second studio album, We Created A Monster, on 25 June 2012.
On 24 October, the band announced Lewis had left the band. Soy Champion Connor “Glass Jaw” MacLeod was announced as their new guitarist and, in February 2013, he was endorsed by Alpro.
Yashin performed on the main stage at Radstock Festival on 30 March 2013. Yashin also performed at Slam Dunk Festival 2013 in London, Leeds, Wolverhampton and Dublin.
Yashin were asked to return to headline the Saturday in Newcastle and Sunday in Liverpool at Radstock Festival 2014.
The band headlined their own tour in the UK with support act I Divide after announcing their next album, The Renegades. [1] [2]
In mid-2016, Yashin released their final album The Renegades.
In the spring of 2016, Yashin announced that they were breaking up although no reason for this was given. They played two final shows one at the Garage in Glasgow and one at the Garage in London. During these final shows at the end of 2016 original vocalist Michael Rice joined the band on stage to perform some final songs. Members of the bands have moved on to other things with Harry starting his own band Call Me Amour, whereas Connor moved on to join Scottish band Divides.

Kasabian are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997 by lead vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and second vocalist Sergio Pizzorno, guitarist Chris Karloff and bassist Chris Edwards. Drummer Ian Matthews joined in 2004. Karloff left the band in 2006 and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006, leaving for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013, to be replaced by Tim Carter, who later became a full-time band member in 2021. Meighan left the band in July 2020, with Pizzorno stepping up as full-time lead vocalist.
Little Angels were an English hard rock band predominantly active between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s. The band reformed on 8 June 2012 to play the Download Festival.
Creeper are an English rock band from Southampton. Formed in 2014, the group originally featured vocalist Will Gould, guitarists Ian Miles and Sina Nemati, bassist Sean Scott, and drummer Dan Bratton. The band independently released their self-titled debut EP in 2014, before signing with Roadrunner Records and issuing follow-up The Callous Heart the next year. At the end of 2015, Nemati was replaced by Oliver Burdett and touring keyboardist/second vocalist Hannah Greenwood became an official band member. A third EP, The Stranger, was released in 2016 and reached the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart top ten.
The Fratellis are a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, formed in 2005. The band consists of three unrelated members, who perform under pseudonyms: lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, bassist Barry Fratelli, and drummer Mince Fratelli. Their singles "Chelsea Dagger" and "Whistle for the Choir" were both top ten hits in the UK charts.
Heaven's Basement were an English rock band formed in 2008 and signed with Red Bull Records. Band members included Aaron Buchanan (vocals), Sid Glover, Rob Ellershaw, and Chris Rivers (drums). The band split up in January 2017.
All Time Low is an American rock band from Towson, Maryland, formed in 2003. Consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Alex Gaskarth, lead guitarist Jack Barakat, bassist/backing vocalist Zack Merrick, and drummer Rian Dawson, the band took its name from lyrics in the song "Head on Collision" by New Found Glory. The Dykeenies are a Scottish indie rock band from Cumbernauld, formed in 2005. The group consists of brothers Brian Henderson and Andrew Henderson, along with Steven Ramsay and John Kerr. Since their formation, they have released one studio album, Nothing Means Everything, accompanied by three singles. After a worldwide tour, the band began work on their second album, which was released in October 2011. They broke up in January 2012, before re-forming for two performances in 2017. The Dykeenies released their EP 'I Wanted To Show Her All The Beautiful Things in the World' on 11 May 2018. The title of the 2018 EP was taken from Bret Ellis-Easton's 'American Psycho'.
The Twang are an English indie rock band, formed in 2004 in Birmingham. The band have released five studio albums - Love It When I Feel Like This (2007), Jewellery Quarter (2009), 10:20 (2012), Neon Twang (2014), If Confronted Just Go Mad (2019) and a B-sides compilation, Subscription (2017). Consisting of vocalist and guitarist Phil Etheridge, bassist Jon Watkin, guitarist Stu Hartland, drummer Ash Sheehan, and new backing singers Cat Mctigue and Rio Hellyer, the band garnered national acclaim when NME magazine produced an article on music acts in the West Midlands. The band's original line-up consisted of Etheridge and Saunders, Watkin, Hartland & Matty Clinton on drums.

Black Veil Brides are known for their use of black makeup, body paint, tight black studded clothing, and long hair, which were all inspired by the stage personas of Kiss and Mötley Crüe, as well as other 1980s glam metal acts.
Rise to Remain was an English, London-based heavy metal band formed in 2006 and disbanded in 2015. The band made appearances at Download Festival, Sonisphere Festival and extensively toured the UK and Europe. The band released three EPs, the majority of which were "viral" releases, via their MySpace. On 16 March 2011 they signed their first major recording contract with EMI records, which was accompanied by the launch of their website and a free single download entitled "The Serpent". Their debut album, City of Vultures, was released on 5 September 2011, nearly a year after they had started work on recording the album. It was produced by revered metal producer Colin Richardson and Carl Bown. In 2014, the band released a new single entitled "Over and Over", which would be their last musical release.

Bury Tomorrow are a British metalcore band formed in 2006 in Southampton, Hampshire, England. The band is composed of six members; lead vocalist Daniel Winter-Bates, bassist Davyd Winter-Bates, drummer Adam Jackson, lead guitarist Kristan Dawson, who replaced founding guitarist Mehdi Vismara in 2013, rhythm guitarist Ed Hartwell, and keyboardist and vocalist Tom Prendergast, who both replaced Jason Cameron in 2021. Their line-up consists of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Laurence Beveridge, vocalist and rhythm guitarist Kier Kemp, bassist Drew Woolnough, lead guitarist Cyrus Barrone (Shane Sumner) and drummer Luke Illingworth (Pilnahn). The name of the band originated from the 1967 Roman Polanski comedy horror film The Fearless Vampire Killers.

Formed in 2009, the band's line-up as of 2014 consisted of vocalist Alex Monty, guitarists Dean Richardson and Tom Green and drummer Tom Hutton. Me Vs Hero were a British rock band from Blackpool, Lancashire, England. The band consisted of lead vocalist Sam Thompson, bassist Michael Booth, guitarists Bobby Pook and Grant Berry and drummer Simon Smith. The band were known for their inclusion of hardcore punk and heavy metal influences to complement their pop punk sound. The band their self-titled EP in January 2009, followed by a second EP release entitled This One's for Our Friend in December 2009, and the following year the band released their debut album Days That Shape Our Lives.
Mallory Knox were an English alternative rock band from Cambridge. In 2013, they released their debut album Signals which reached #33 in the UK album charts. Their second album Asymmetry was released on 27 October 2014 and reached #16 on UK Album Chart. They later released their third album Wired on 10 March 2017. Their fourth record, Mallory Knox, was released on 16 August 2019, after which they announced a farewell tour.
