The Young Fabians [1] Health Network is a special interest group of the youth section of the Fabian Society.
The aim of the Young Fabians Health Network is to connect professionals, academics and policy makers in the health and social care sectors. Providing a forum for policy orientated debate and discussion feeding into wider Young Fabian thinking.
The network organises an annual programme of policy round-tables, publications, panel events involving public figures from the world of health and social care.
The Young Fabian Health Network was formed in November 2011 founded by Dr Martin Edobor. In February 2012 the Health Network was officially launched by former Young Fabian Chair, Sara Ibrahim with a keynote address from Maureen Donnelly former chair of Cambridgeshire primary care trust at University College London.
In 2012 the Network held a series of policy roundtables examining the funding mechanisms for health and social care. In May that year Andy Burnham MP, Shadow Secretary of State of Health, set out Labour’s vision for a sustainable social care system at the Health Network's flagship policy event. The policy series culminated in the publication of Young Fabian 61 policy pamphlet "Irreversible? Health and social care policy in a post-coalition Landscape", [2] edited by Martin Edobor and Daniel Wilson-Craw examining the way a 'whole person care' approach could be used to tackle the health and social care crisis.
Ade Adeyemi chaired the Health Network from 2012–2013, where he led a policy series looking at the use of data within the NHS. In June 2013 the Health Network entered a formal partnership with AMREF, Africa’s leading health charity [3] with the aim of long term collaboration to provide policy-based solutions to healthcare problems in Africa.
The Network was recently chaired by Amrita Rose (2013-2014), she worked with the steering committee on a series of events examining how Labour can develop a sustainable health policy platform for Britain. Sonia Adesara chaired the Network from 2017-2019. The current Chair is Milo Barnett.
Chairs of Young Fabians Health Network are elected at an annual AGM's and hold office for one year.

Shirley Vivian Teresa Brittain Williams, Baroness Williams of Crosby, is a British Liberal Democrat politician and academic who served in the Cabinet as Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection from 1974 to 1976 and Secretary of State for Education and Science and Paymaster General from 1976 to 1979. He wrote widely on the economics of poverty and was co-founder of the Child Poverty Action Group. The Peter Townsend Policy Press Prize was established by the British Academy in his memory.

The Young Fabians operate as a membership-driven think tank that organises policy debates, research projects, publications, conferences, and international delegations. The organisation holds no collective position on policy.

Brian D. Loader is currently Co-Director of the Centre for Political Youth Culture and Communication (CPAC) at the University of York, UK. Brian joined the Department of Sociology at York in January 2006 to pursue his scholarly interests into digital media communication and democratic governance. His overarching interest is in new media communications technologies, and the social, political and economic factors shaping their development and diffusion, and their implications for social, economic, political and cultural change. He has published widely in these areas and is the founding Editor of the international journal Information, Communication and Society whose aim and scope is to critically explore these issues in depth.

Jessica Asato is a British Labour Party politician. She was selected in 2012 as the parliamentary candidate for Norwich North at the 2015 general election. She was one of 15 Labour candidates each given financial support of £10,000 by Lord Oakeshott, the former Liberal Democrat, in January 2015. In the general election, Asato came second to Chloe Smith in Norwich North, having increased the Labour vote by 2%.
Michael Jacobs is Professorial Research Fellow at the Sheffield Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Sheffield. He was previously a special adviser to former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Co-Editor of The Political Quarterly and the head of the Fabian Society, and then director of the Commission on Economic Justice at the Institute for Public Policy Research and a visiting professor in the Department of Political Science and School of Public Policy, University College London.
Patrick Philip Vernon is a British social commentator and political activist of Jamaican heritage, who works in the voluntary and public sector. He is a former Labour councillor in the London Borough of Hackney. His career has been involved with developing and managing health and social care services, including mental health, public health, regeneration and employment projects. Also a film maker and cultural historian, he runs his own social enterprise promoting the history of diverse communities, as founder of Every Generation and the "100 Great Black Britons" campaign. He is also an expert on African and Caribbean genealogy in the UK. He was appointed a Clore Fellow in 2007, an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2012 Birthday Honours for "services to the Reduction of Health Inequalities for Ethnic Minorities", and in 2018 was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Wolverhampton.
