Melvins are an American rock band formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington. Their early work was key to the development of both grunge and sludge metal. Primarily a trio, they have also performed as a quartet, with either two drummers or two bassists. Since 1984, vocalist and guitarist Buzz Osborne and drummer Dale Crover have been constant members.

Shudder to Think was an American alternative rock band. Formed in 1986, they released three albums on the Washington, D.C.-based label Dischord Records, and two on Epic Records. Their early work was largely influenced by post-hardcore although they gradually drew upon a wide range of stylistic influences, including pop music and glam metal.
The (International) Noise Conspiracy was a Swedish rock band formed in Sweden in the late months of 1998. The line-up consists of Dennis Lyxzén (vocals), Inge Johansson (bass), Lars Strömberg (guitar), and Ludwig Dahlberg (drums). The band is known for its punk and garage rock musical influences, and its impassioned left-wing political stance. Up until 2004, guitarist/organist/keyboardist Sara Almgren was also a member of the band. Dennis formed The (I)NC almost immediately after the breakup of his former band, Refused. The (I)nc takes pride in blending the roots of at least four other bands, including Totalt Jävla Mörker (Johansson), Separation (Strömberg), Saidiwas, and Doughnuts (Almgren). In 2007, Inge Johansson also played in the band The Most.
Scream is an American hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C.; they originally formed in the suburb of Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia. Scream originally formed in 1981 within the vanguard of the Washington Hardcore explosion. In 2009, the band reunited, and as of January 2012 were on tour in Europe. As of 2017, the band was still touring in both America and the United Kingdom.
The Notwist are a German indie rock band. Formed in 1989, the band moved through several musical incarnations, despite maintaining a relatively stable line-up. While their early records moved through heavy metal into dark indie rock, their recent efforts for which they have received the most attention have been strongly influenced by the electronica scene, along with the other groups on the record label, Morr Music.
Jawbox is an American post-hardcore band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1989 by J. Robbins (vocals/guitar), Kim Coletta (bass), and Adam Wade (drums). After the trio released the album Grippe in 1991, Bill Barbot (guitar/vocals) joined as the fourth member. Jawbox released their second album Novelty in 1992, followed by Wade being replaced by Zach Barocas that same year. Jawbox signed to the major label Atlantic Records and released their third album For Your Own Special Sweetheart in 1994, which spawned the band's most recognizable song "Savory". After the release of their fourth album Jawbox in 1996, the band departed from Atlantic, and subsequently disbanded in 1997. They reunited for a brief one-off show in 2009, followed by a full-time reunion in 2019. Barbot left the band in 2021 and he was replaced by Brooks Harlan.
Your Choice Live Series Vol. 12 is a live album by American rock band the Melvins, released in 1991 through Your Choice Records. It was recorded on January 23, 1991, at Oberhaus in Alzey, Germany. The band also performed the song "It's Shoved"; it was left off this album but later released on the It's Your Choice compilation.

Live at the Black Cat is a live album by American hardcore punk band Scream. It was released on February 10, 1998, by Torque Records. The album was recorded live at The Black Cat in Washington, D.C., on December 28, 1996, at a Christmas reunion show. The band featured the original band line-up of Franz Stahl on lead guitar, his brother Pete Stahl on lead vocals, Skeeter Thompson on bass and Kent Stax on drums. Robert "Harley" Davidson, who was picked up by the band in the mid 1980's during the recording of the band's second album "This Side Up" also performed on guitar on the recording. All material on the record was written by Franz and Pete Stahl with the exception of "No More Censorship" which was written by Davidson. Scream alumni drummer Dave Grohl who played with Nirvana and later Foo Fighters guest appeared as the drummer on "No More Censorship".
