Zach Erdem (born July 17, 1982 in Erzincan, Turkey [1] ) is a television personality and entrepreneur. [2] [3] He is an owner and partner [4] [5] in several Long Island-based restaurants and nightclubs [6] including 75 Main [7] in Southampton, New York. [8] Zach and his staff appear on American reality television show [9] Serving the Hamptons [10] which premiered April 7, 2022 on Discovery+. Seasons 2 and 3 of the show were picked up by HBO Max, [11] its current streaming platform. The reality TV show features employees and patrons from his eateries and nightlife venues. [12] [13]

Personal life

Zach was born and raised in Erzincan, Turkey to mother Seriban and father Gazi Erdem, he is the second youngest of six brothers. [14] He attended middle school in Erzincan and completed high school education in Istanbul. Afterward, he pursued higher education at the University of Edirne and received a business finance degree in 2001. [15] The following year, Zach moved to the USA, where he worked in various cities, including Miami, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, eventually returning to New York.

Career

Erdem opened the 75 Main Restaurant and Lounge during 2010 in Southampton, New York. It became a fixture in the Southampton town, [16] with features on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Real Housewives of New York, Serving the Hamptons and more. Tastemakers such as Kelsey Grammer, [17] and Kendall [18] have bartended and launched their alcoholic beverage brands at this location. Erdem subsequently opened the Blu Mar Restaurant and Harpoon House Hotel locations in 2016, then Main Room Nightclub in 2019 at the same venue. During 2023 these ventures were followed by expansion to the North Fork, where Erdem opened a Mediterranean restaurant ZErdem, and ZEY Hotel, along with a restaurant and lounge, Café 75, [19] in Greenport, New York.

Citarella Gourmet Market, commonly referred to as Citarella, is a chain of upscale grocery stores operating in New York and Connecticut. Founded in 1912, the company initially specialized in seafoods in New York City, and has ever since expanded into the field of gourmet food operating in affluent locations. Citarella currently operates 8 markets and 2 wine stores. The locations currently include Upper West Side, Upper East Side, West Village in Manhattan; East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Southampton on Long Island; as well as one food and wine market in Greenwich, Connecticut. In January 2023, they announced a new location to open in Westhampton Beach, New York. Since 1983, Citarella is owned by Joseph 'Joe' Gurrera.
