Cinema of Turkey or Turkish cinema, or Türksineması refers to the Turkish film art and industry. It is an important part of Turkish culture, and has flourished over the years, delivering entertainment to audiences in Turkey, Turkish expatriates across Europe, Balkans & Eastern Europe, also more recently prospering in the Arab world and to a lesser extent, the rest of the world.
Hrishikesh Mukherjee was an Indian film director, editor and writer. He is regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of Indian cinema. Popularly known as Hrishi-da, he directed 42 films during his career spanning over four decades, and is named the pioneer of the 'middle cinema' of India. Renowned for his social films that reflected the changing middle-class ethos, Mukherjee "carved a middle path between the extravagance of mainstream cinema and the stark realism of art cinema".

Destiny is a 2006 Turkish drama film, produced, written and directed by Zeki Demirkubuz, starring Vildan Atasever as a bar singer who is in love with a somewhat unstable criminal. The film, which went on nationwide general release across Turkey on November 17, 2006, won awards at film festivals in Antalya, Ankara, Nuremberg and Istanbul, including the Golden Orange for Best film. It is a prequel to Innocence (1997).
Erkan Can is a Turkish film and theatre actor, who has won the Golden Orange for Best Actor twice for his roles in On Board and Takva: A Man's Fear of God, and the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor for Takva: A Man's Fear of God.
Fate is a 2001 Turkish drama film directed and screen-written by Zeki Demirkubuz based on Albert Camus' 1942 novel L'Étranger. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival.
Vasanthabalan is an Indian Tamil film director and screenwriter. He has made critically acclaimed films including Veyil (2006), Angadi Theru (2010) and Kaaviya Thalaivan (2014).
B. Lenin born as Bhimsingh Lenin is an Indian film editor, writer and director who works in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films. The son of Tamil film maker A. Bhimsingh, Lenin entered the film industry as an assistant editor and went on to work in numerous projects before making his debut as an independent editor with Mahendran's Uthiripookkal (1979). In the mid 1980s, Lenin started jointly working with his long-time assistant V. T. Vijayan and the duo has so far edited over a hundred films in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi films, apart from an English film, Eli My Friend.

New Turkish Cinema: Belonging, Identity and Memory is a 2010 I.B. Tauris publication by Istanbul Technical University Associate Professor Asuman Suner which examines the emergence of the new wave Turkish cinema, including both commercial and independent productions, against the backdrop of the drastic transformation undergone by Turkey since the mid-1990s and how these films persistently return to the themes of belonging, identity and memory. The book, which was published on January 30, 2010, is an extensively revised and re-written update of an earlier edition published by Metis Press, Istanbul, in 2006.

Emin Alper is a Turkish filmmaker and historian. His directorial debut, Beyond the Hill won the Caligari Film Prize in the 62nd Berlinale and Best Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. His second feature Frenzy won the Special Jury Prize after premiering in competition at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival.
Nazan Kırılmış Kesal is a Turkish actress. In 2004, she worked as a director and actor in Diyarbakır State Theater. The artist who was appointed to Bursa State Theater in early 2004, also worked in private groups such as Ankara Sanatevi Theater, Theater Mirror, Theater Istanbul, Diyarbakir Art Center.
Nihal Geyran Koldaş is a Turkish actress and theater director. She is known for her roles in Masumiyet as Yusuf's elder sister and in Bıçak Sırtı as Gönül. Together with Zeki Demirkubuz, she was one of the two producers of Masumiyet.
