Bangalore railway division is one of the three railway divisions under South Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. This railway division was formed in 1971 and its headquarter is located at Bangalore in the state of Karnataka of India.

Mysuru railway division, and Hubballi railway division are the other railway divisions under SWR Zone headquartered at Hubballi. [1] [2]

The overall in charge of Bangalore Division, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) is Shyam Singh. [3] [4] [5]

Buses, cars and trains are the means of transport for moving across distant places in Karnataka. For transportation within the city or town limits; motorbikes, cars, autorickshaws and buses are used. With the advent of low-cost airlines, many people are choosing to travel via air as well.

The Bangalore–Arsikere–Hubli line is a major railway line in the Indian state of Karnataka connecting state capital Bangalore with city of Hubballi in north-central Karnataka. It traverses across Karnataka and links several cities of Karnataka, including Tumakuru, Kadur, Davanagere, Haveri and Hubballi. Currently, 29 pairs of trains operate in this route, out of which 8 are daily services. Apart from this, this route also links Karnataka with other states, such as Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. This route is also a major feeder line for iron ore, coal and steel hauling freight trains originating from Ballari district towards the Mangaluru port.

Gadag Junction railway station is a NSG-4 Category railway station under South Western Railway in Gadag district, Karnataka. It serves Gadag-Betageri. The station consists of 3 platforms. The station lies on Guntakal–Vasco da Gama section HDN-7A | and as well as it connects Gadag–Hotgi railway line.The Gadag–Hotgi railway line was converted from metre gauge to broad gauge in December 2008. Bagalkot Junction railway station is a railway station in the Hubli railway division of South Western Railway in Bagalkote district, Karnataka, India. The station lies on the Gadag–Hotgi railway line, which serves Bagalkote and nearby towns with 3 platforms and was converted from meter gauge to broad gauge in December 2008. A new line is being constructed between Bagalkote and Kudachi. Railway stations have amenities such as a computerized reservation office, waiting room, retiring room book stall. It is a B category railway station.

Kadur Junction railway station, also known as Kaduru Junction railway station is an Indian Railways station in Kadur in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Koppal railway station is an NSG-5 Category Station under the Hubli railway division of the South Western Railway, located in Koppal district, Karnataka, India. The station has three platforms that primarily cater to Koppal Town and nearby villages.
